Calls for Service

May 22

While on patrol, Officer Mark Templemere noticed a driver with a revoked license. Investigation found the driver to be intoxicated above the legal limit.

Officers spoke to six individuals requesting information or assistance and issued one traffic warning.

May 23

Officer Clark conducted security checks of local businesses.

Deputy Chief Ryan Boyle responded to State Route 76 in reference to a vandalism call. Upon further investigation, the owner of the vandalized property did not wish to pursue charges.

Officer Barnhouse responded to a business for a report of a suspicious item. He seized the item and submitted it to evidence for destruction.

Cpl. Hocking responded to Belshe Avenue for a verbal disturbance. He separated both parties. 

Deputy Chief Boyle responded to State Route 76 for a report of property damage. 

Officer Barnhouse took a report of a suspicious vehicle on East Ninth Street. 

Officers spoke to two individuals requesting information or assistance and issued nine traffic warnings.

May 24

Officer Clark conducted security checks of local businesses.

Officer Barnhouse responded to a disturbance on North Grand St. When he arrived, he separated the parties involved to speak to them. He issued warnings for trespassing.

Officer Barnhouse conducted a traffic stop and took the driver into custody for driving without a valid license. Charges will be filed with the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for felony driving while revoked.

Cpl. Hocking, Officer Barnhouse, and Officer Clark responded to a verbal domestic between a mother and daughter at an apartment building on East Main St. They separated the parties and both agreed to leave each other alone for the night.

Officer Barnhouse attempted to make a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. Officers later located the vehicle but not the driver. Officers identified the driver, and several felony charges will be filed with the Howell County Prosecutors office.

Cpl. Hocking responded to a report of an assault on South Harris Street. He will forward the information to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. 

Officer Hedlesten conducted a requested wellbeing check on East Main St.

Officer Barnhouse responded to East High St and DD highway for a report of harassment. 

Officers spoke to three individuals requesting information or assistance.

May 25

Officer Clark conducted security checks of local businesses.

Officer Templemere began an investigation into claims of harassment and possible nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images.

Officer Turnbull responded to a physical altercation at Willow Villa apartments. He issued a citation for an assault.

Cpl. Hocking assisted a motorist on East Main St. 

Officer Hedlesten assisted a motorist at Main and Harris Streets. 

Officer Turnbull responded to a verbal altercation. He separated both parties. 

Officers spoke to one individual requesting information and issued six traffic warnings.

May 26

Officer Clark conducted security checks of local businesses.

Officer Gates assisted a motorist.

Officer Templemere responded to Post Oak Drive for an altercation.

Officer McGinnis conducted security checks of local businesses.

Officers spoke to one individual requesting information and issued three traffic warnings.

May 27

Officer McGinnis conducted security checks of local businesses and West Valley Street.

Officer Barnhouse assisted a motorist on Railroad Drive bridge.

Officers spoke to six individuals requesting information or assistance and issued three traffic warnings.

May 28

Officers responded to Lane Street for a report of someone inside the residence for a possible burglary. 

Sgt. Zeller returned found property to the owner.
