Calls for Service

February 17

Cpl. Wesley Stuart arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.

Officer Jesse Martin responded to a report of stealing. He found an individual having a mental health crisis and transported them to the hospital.

Officer Jerry Mingus took a report of stealing on Kentucky Ave. Investigation found an individual took items and then fled the area.

Officer Nathaniel Siegrist responded to Lanton Road for an assault. This case will be open pending further investigation.

February 18

Cpl. Stuart conducted security checks of local businesses and found an open door. He secured the business.

Officer Conner Burnes responded to Broadway for a report of theft. Investigation found building supplies taken from the area. The case will be under investigation.

Officer Martin responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a disturbance with a possible weapon. Investigation determined no criminal act occurred.

Officer Martin responded to 10BOX Cost Plus for a report of stealing not in progress. They identified a suspect. 

Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Imperial Drive for a report of a stolen vehicle. He located and arrested the suspect and returned the vehicle to the proper owner. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.  

Officer Gill investigated a two vehicle non-injury accident on Wild Turkey Dr. 

February 19

Officer Jacob Beadell received notice of a suspicious subject on Missouri Ave. Officers found a highly intoxicated individual and transported them to jail for a twelve-hour safety hold. 

Officer Martin responded to Ramey grocery store for a report of stealing. An investigation is ongoing. 

February 20

Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to the Walmart Super Center for a report of a subject with no pulse and CPR in progress. Investigation suspected no foul play and the determined the individual deceased. 

Officer Miller took a report of stealing.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office requested digital forensics conducted on two separate cellular devices as part of an on-going investigation within their jurisdiction. Officers conducted the process, and the devices and forensic reports will be provided to the case agent. 

Officer Meyer responded to Lanton Road for a domestic altercation. Investigation found a verbal argument only and both parties separated for the evening. 

Cpl. Brandon Stephens arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.

Officer Burnes received notice of a possible court order violation. He arrested an individual and took them into custody pending formal charges from the Howell County Prosecutor's Office. 

February 22

Officer Martin responded to Lynn Drive for a report of harassment. An investigation is ongoing.

Officer Chris Barrett responded to Aldridge for a report of a suicidal subject. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental health evaluation. 

February 23

Officer Siegrist responded to Amyx and Woods in reference to a dog bite. Animal Control transported the animal to the West Plains Animal Control Facility for a ten-day quarantine.

Officer Gill responded to W. 5th Street in regards to a runaway juvenile. Officers later located the juvenile at a residence on Monks Street and returned them to parental custody.
