Calls for Service

October 14

Officer Ivie Powell received a report of vandalism and theft from a vending machine that occurred previously. 

Officer Austin Deshazo responded to Preacher Roe Blvd. for a report of trespassing. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Courts for review. 

Officer Deshazo completed a report of harassment that occurred previously.

Officer Dobbs responded to the area of Stein Avenue for a report of two loose dogs. The reporting party stated the aggressive dogs killed his chickens. Officers located the dogs, captured, and transported them to the animal control facility.

Cpl. Thomas Manning conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Investigation discovered a subject missing out of Oklahoma and had active warrants for his arrest. They arrested the subject and transported them to the West Plains Police Department for pending formal charges. 

October 15

Officer Deshazo arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.

Officers responded to the intersection of Porter Wagoner Blvd. and Broadway Street for a report of a vehicle crash. Investigation found the driver of the vehicle impaired and arrested for driving while intoxicated. This case will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Courts for review. 

Officer Powell spoke to an individual reporting an issue with a child custody exchange. This matter will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor. 

Sgt. Brandon Romans responded to the area of Ransom Road and Missouri Avenue on report of a well being check needed on an adult male in that area. Upon arrival, it was determined that a 51 y/o male was suffering from an altered mental state and was ultimately transported for a mental evaluation. 

Officer Brent Keepes investigated a report of a possible protection order violation.

Officer Kerley responded to Pierce Street to assist children’s division.

Officer Kerley responded to Bartley to a disturbance. The victim did not want to peruse charges. Both individuals separated for the night. 

Officer Kerley took a report of a theft of a pair of shoes. The case will remain open as he gathers video evidence.

October 16

Officer Kerley arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.

Sgt. Colter Reid took a report of an online scam.

Officer Jesse Martin began an investigation of property damage at Snappy Mart #11 located on north US Highway 63.

October 17

Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a report of a disturbance. Investigation resulted in a subject transported to Ozarks Healthcare for further mental health treatment. 

Officer Kerley investigated a vehicle crash with one driver leaving the scene.

Cpl. Micah McKemie completed a report regarding a theft on Preacher Roe Blvd. He identified a suspect and charges will be sought. 

October 18

Officer Chris Barrett responded to a business located on Saint Louis Street for a report of property damage that occurred previously. He contacted an employee reporting on 09-08-2024, a juvenile damaged property at the business. 

Officer Barrett arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.

Cpl. Brandon Stephens arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.

Officer Barrett responded to Garfield Avenue for a report of an animal bite. Investigation found an individual reporting a neighbor's dog attacked her dog. He issued the owner of the loose dog citations.

Officer Dobbs responded to 10Box Cost Plus grocery store located at 705 Kentucky Avenue for a report of stealing. This case is open for further investigation.

Officer Kerley investigated a vehicle accident with one driver leaving the scene.

Officer Jerry Mingus arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.

Officer Mingus spoke to an individual reporting an assault.

Officer Kerley responded to a report of property damage on State Route K. Investigation found a truck window shot with a BB gun.   

October 19

Officer Meyer arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant and drug paraphernalia.

Officer Barrett investigated a report of a verbal disturbance.

Cpl. Stephens conducted an investigative traffic stop on a vehicle on Porter Wagoner Blvd. in reference to a recent shoplifting case. Investigation identified the suspect of a shoplifting case and arrested the driver of the vehicle on an active warrant out of Wright County. 

Officer Mingus assisted in the jail with a physical altercation. Officers separated the parties, and no injuries occurred. 

Officer Jacob Beadell responded to Terra Drive for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile in the vicinity of the neighborhood and returned them home.

October 20

Cpl. Stephens arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.

Officer Mingus responded to Thayer Ave for a report of child abuse. Charges will be sent to the Prosecuting Attorney's office.   

Cpl. Manning arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.

October 21

Officer Brent Keepes responded to Broadway for a silent business alarm. They took an individual into custody and placed them on a 96-hour mental hold evaluation. 

Officer Jerry Mingus responded to Cynthia for a disturbance. He found a father and daughter involved in a verbal altercation.

Officer Keepes investigated a custody issue involving a juvenile. This case remains open for further investigation. 

Cpl. Thomas Manning responded to a disturbance on First St. Officers conducted a standby while both parties agreed to separate for the night.  

Cpl. Manning arrested one individual on outstanding warrants.

October 23

Officer Ivie Powell spoke with the reporting party of harassment. Investigation found an adult male sent a message on social media stating he would pay for bodily harm toward a juvenile. This matter will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office. 

Officer Chris Barrett responded to Jackson Street for a report of property damage. He spoke with an individual reporting another threatened them and damaged property. 

Sgt. Brandon Romans responded to Lanton Road for a juvenile issue. He later took a juvenile into custody and transported them to the 37th Judicial Juvenile Office.

Cpl. Manning arrested one individual on outstanding warrants from Willow Springs.

Officer Kerley arrested one individual on Broadway for outstanding warrants.

October 24

Sgt. Joshua Wichowski investigated a verbal domestic disturbance between a couple on Lanton Road. He observed no criminal actions.

Officer Conner Burnes investigated a report of a juvenile with nicotine products. This case will be sent to the Juvenile Office. 

Officer Nathaniel Siegrist responded to Davis Dr in reference to stealing. This case will be open pending further investigation. 

Officer Keepes took a report of a violation of an order of protection. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office. 

Officer Kerley responded to Ozarks Healthcare (OZH) regarding a dog bite. Officers impounded the dog in the West Plains dog pound for a ten-day quarantine period. 

October 25

The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force conducted an online investigation on the BitTorrent network for offenders sharing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Officers initiated an investigation for a device at an IP address in the Polk County area associated with a torrent file referencing 2,025 files, at least one identified as being a file of investigative interest to child pornography investigations. The investigation will be ongoing.

Officer Dobbs responded to the West Plains Motel on Porter Wagoner Boulevard for a report of a Court Order violation. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office.

Officer Siegrist took a report of a court order violation. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office. 

Officer Kerley took a report of a court order violation on Cass Avenue. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office. 

October 26

Officer Daiman Myer arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.

Sgt. Wichowski responded to a residence on Pony Thomas Drive for a report of a peace disturbance. He later placed an individual on a 96 hour hold for mental evaluation.

Officer Meyer responded to South Hill St. for a report of a disturbance. Investigation learned a subject assaulted another individual. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.  

Officer Mingus responded to Joe Jones for a disturbance. An incident occurred among family members during a Halloween event. 

Officer Gill responded to London Lane for an assault. The individuals did not want to pursue charges. 

October 27

Sgt. Wichowski responded to a residence on Johnson Street for a report of an assault in progress. Investigation found a victim assaulted repeatedly and held against their will. A suspect later fled from the residence and officers apprehended them after a brief foot pursuit. Charges will be pending through the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. 

Cpl. Stephens responded to Mudbuster’s Carwash on Preacher Roe Blvd. for a report of property damage. This case is currently still under investigation. 

Officer Dobbs took a report of a stolen bicycle from a residence off Utah Street.

Cpl. Manning arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.

During an investigation of a stealing case, Cpl. Manning arrested one individual for possession of a controlled substance.

Cpl. Manning arrested one individual for outstanding warrants from Douglas County. 

Officer Jesse Martin responded to West 6th Street for a possible domestic violence incident. Investigation determined an assault took place and arrested one suspect placing them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.
