Calls for Service

August 11

Cpl. Wesley Stuart responded to North Howell Avenue for a report of a suspicious person knocking at a residence. His investigation found the individual was seeking assistance for a fire at their residence. They extinguished the fire.

Officer Jospeh Tombley responded to the area of West Broadway for the report of a trespassing individual. They identified the individual, conducted a brief investigation, and issued them a trespassing citation with a court date.

Officer Keepes responded to the Super 8 Motel for a wellbeing check on an individual who made suicidal statements to family. They transported the individual to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

Officer Jerry Mingus responded to Preacher Roe Blvd for a court order violation. A subject violated an adult protection order against another individual.

August 12

Officer Jesse Martin took a report at MFA Ag Services for property damage.

The Mountain Grove Police Department requested digital forensics be conducted on a cellular device as part of an on-going investigation.

Officer Dobbs responded to First National Banking Company for a report of passing bad checks. A probable cause statement will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Officer Brent Keepes responded to Broadway and Washington for two vehicles involved in an auto accident. He took an individual into custody for driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked or suspended. 

August 13

Officer Daiman Meyer conducted a foot patrol in the area Garfield Street at Missouri State-West Plains University Looney Hall. He found an open door and re-secured the business.

Officer Dobbs took a report of harassment. This case will be open for further investigation.

Officer Dobbs responded to Bartley Street for a report of a neighbor throwing trash in their yard. After an investigation, they arrested a suspect. The subject refused to comply with officers and resisted arrest while making statements of self-harm and began cutting their wrist. They transported the subject to the hospital for medical treatment. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutors Office.

August 14

While conducting routine patrol, in the area of Myrtle Street Sgt. Joshua Wichowski observed a storage unit at the Roo Storage Facility partially ajar. A further investigation determined a storage unit appeared to have been forcibly entered. This matter remains under investigation. 

Officer Meyer responded to Oakwood Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance. He completed an investigation and the parties separated for the night.

Officer Ivie Powell spoke with the victim of property damage on Pine Street. The victim said they noticed a window shattered the day before and it appeared someone had thrown something at it or shot it with a BB gun or pellet gun. This matter remains under investigation.

Det. Joel Lovelace received a report of theft at the North Terra Golf Course. After a brief investigation, he identified the suspect and returned the property to the rightful owner.

August 15

Cpl. Brandon Stephens responded to a report of a domestic assault that had occurred on Luna Drive. He placed a subject under arrest and will be held pending formal charges.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office requested digital forensics be conducted on a cellular device as part of an on-going investigation within their jurisdiction.

Officer Dobbs responded to the Southern Missouri Probation Services for an individual with outstanding warrants. 

Officer Brandon Vernon responded to Preacher Roe for a report an individual previously trespassed who returned to the business.

Officer Dobbs took a report of a child custody exchange violation.

Officer Mingus responded to Porter Wagoner for a report of property damage. His investigation found two concrete parking stoppers and a hydrant damage. He learned from the reporting party a vehicle trying to "hot rod " in the parking lot, lost control and struck the stoppers and hydrant before leaving the scene. 

Officer Dobbs responded to the area of Jackie Drive for a report of juvenile throwing fireworks in mailboxes.

Officer Meyer responded to Washington Avenue for a report of an assault. After an investigation they arrested the suspect. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.

August 16

Officer Barrett responded to North College Street for a report of court order violation. He spoke to an individual reporting that someone they have an order of protection against, sent a message.

Cpl. Stephens arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.

Cpl. Stephens responded to a room at the Super 8 Motel for a disturbance. His investigation determined that a husband and wife had a physical altercation. No charges will be filed. 

August 17

Officer Jacob Beadell responded to Crestwood for a report of a disturbance. He interviewed the residents of the home and located some property damage; however, all the statements accused different people. This case will be closed due to the lack of evidence.

Officer Gill responded to North College for a report of harassment. After an investigation charges will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Siegrist responded to Renfrow in reference to stealing. A probable cause statement will be completed and forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officer Franks responded to a residence for a report of a domestic incident. He discovered a couple in a romantic relationship had a physical altercation. This case and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office for review.
