Calls for Service

July 14

Officer Brandon Vernon responded to Worley Dr. for a report of assault. This case will remain open pending an interview with the suspect.

Officers spoke with someone reporting their license plate had been taken and replaced with others. 

July 15

Officers responded to a business in West Plains in reference to a stealing not in progress. Investigation discovered an individual stole multiple items from the business as well as had an active arrest warrant. This case and a probable cause statement will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutors Office for review.

July 16

Officer Daimen Meyer responded to Pine Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. He advised the parties to separate for the night. No formal charges are being sought.

Officer Gill spoke to a victim of a domestic altercation at Ozarks Healthcare. They did not wish to pursue charges. 

Sgt. Joshua Wichowski spoke with an individual at Ozarks Healthcare in an alleged domestic altercation. His investigation found the individual had a vehicle accident and left the scene. 

Officers responded to a business in reference to a stealing. Investigation found a subject concealed merchandise and left the store without paying. This case is considered open pending suspect identification.

Officer Joshua Tombley responded to Carmichael Field for a report of property damage. The case remains under investigation pending further information.

July 17

Officer Conner Burnes arrested individuals at the Municipal Court ordered to serve commitments.

Officer Brent Keepes responded to a residence on Renfrow Street for a possible deceased person. They pronounced the individual deceased.

Officer Meyer spoke to individuals involved in a child custody dispute. 

July 18

Officer Vernon arrested an individual with an outstanding warrant.

Officer Dobbs responded to Kay Drive for a report of a runaway juvenile. He located the juvenile and returned them home. A juvenile referral will be sent to the juvenile office.

Officer Jerry Mingus took a report of harassment during a child custody exchange.

Officer Mingus responded to Webster Street for a missing juvenile. The investigation determined the juvenile walked away with an adult. They later located both individuals and returned the juvenile to their family.

July 19

Officer Gill responded to Paula Drive for a report of a domestic altercation. An investigation resulted in one suspect placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. The case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Gill responded to South Howell for a report of harassment. Charges will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Caleb Kerley responded to State Route K in regard to a domestic incident. Further investigation found both parties were uncooperative and had injuries that did not appear to be caused by a physical altercation.

Officer Vernon responded to Meadow St. for a report of an unsupervised child who walked into a residence. They later returned the child to their mother.

Officer Shell responded to the West Plains Jail for a report of an assault.

July 20

Officer Kerley responded to Preacher Roe in regard to a domestic disturbance. An investigation resulted in the arrest of the primary aggressor. A probable cause statement will be completed and forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Officer Gill spoke to an individual reporting property damage. Charges will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Barrett responded to Joe Jones Blvd for a report of a suicidal person. They had the individual transported to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation.

Officer Vernon arrested an individual on outstanding warrants.

Officer Tombley responded to the area of Walmart for the report of a child locked inside a vehicle. EMS checked the child and determined them to be unharmed. They arrested a subject and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending charges. A Probable Cause Statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Officer Franks spoke with individuals reporting a possible missing person. This case is open pending further investigation.

Officer Tombley took a report of a previous domestic incident. Neither party would cooperate with law enforcement. 

Officer Siegrist responded to Bartley St in reference to a suicidal subject. They had the individual transported to Ozarks Healthcare by EMS and completed an affidavit for a 96-hour mental evaluation.
