July 7
Officer Joseph Tombley responded to the area of Court Square regarding a reported past burglary; the case is still under investigation at this time.
Officer Brandon Vernon responded to Cherry St. for a report of an auto accident. During the investigation, he learned a vehicle struck a parked and left the scene. This case will remain open for further investigation.
Officer Vernon responded to First St. for a report of stealing. A report will remain open pending video camera review.
Officers responded to a business in reference to an assault. Investigation found a physical altercation took place between two subjects. However, officers observed no physical injuries. They arrested one individual for two active warrants. This case and a probable cause statement will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutors' Office for review.
July 8
Cpl. Micah McKemie assisted another department with a K9 deployment. The K9 provided an alert, and they located suspected contraband.
Officer Vernon responded to St Louis St. for a report of trespassing at a residence. When officers arrived, they observed an open door. The owner requested the residence to be secured. Officers cleared the building and secured it.
July 9
Officer Jacob Beadell located a heavily intoxicated individual on Holiday Lane who did not have a place to stay and no way to get to their residence. The male requested to be placed on a 12-hour protective hold due to their state of intoxication. This case will be considered closed.
Officer Ivie Powell arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Brent Keepes arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
July 10
Officer Daiman Meyer conducted a traffic stop and learned the driver and a passenger were in possession of illicit items. They arrested both and this case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officer Tombley investigated a report of a five-vehicle crash on Gibson Ave.
July 11
Officers responded to a residence in reference to property damage. Investigation discovered an individual shooting fireworks in the area damaged a window. This case will be considered closed due to no information of a suspect.
Officer Caleb Kerley took a report of a runaway juvenile.
Officer Meyer investigated a vehicle crash on Olden Street. He arrested an impaired driver. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officer Tombley responded to the area of People's Park for the report of a man being inappropriate with a child.
Officer Dobbs responded to Utah Street for a domestic altercation.
July 12
Officer Tombley responded to the area of Preacher Roe and Worley for a report of shoplifting. They located and arrested a suspect. Officers seized the stolen property and returned it to the owner.
Cpl. Wesley Stuart met with an individual reporting the theft of a wallet on July 9 at the West Plains Municipal Aquatic Center.
July 13
While on patrol, a distressed individual flagged down Sgt. Joshua Wichowski to report an assault in the parking lot of O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Officer Vernon investigated a vehicle accident with one driver leaving the scene. He later located the driver and found them to be intoxicated.
