Calls for Service

May 26

Cpl. Wesley Stuart responded to Shutee for an open 911 call. Investigation found a domestic assault occurred. The victim did not cooperate with the investigation and the filing of charges therefore this matter will be closed.

Officer Gill responded to Terra for a report of suspicious circumstances. An investigation determined a domestic assault occurred. Charges will be filed with the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Brandon Vernon responded to Broadway for a report of an individual having a mental breakdown. They transported the individual to the hospital.

Officer Vernon responded to Preacher Roe for a report of stealing. The investigation determined a subject stole items the previous night and left on a bike. The case will remain open for further investigation.

Officer Ivie Powell responded to the McDonald’s on Preacher Roe for a motor vehicle collision and one driver left the scene. This matter remains under investigation.

Officer Conner Burnes responded to Palmer for a report of an unwanted person.

May 26

Officer Brent Keepes too a report of stolen jewelry.

Officers responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a verbal altercation. Investigation learned a foster parent and child had a verbal dispute. During the dispute, physical contact occurred between the parties involved. No charges will be sought.

May 27

Officer Powell took a report of a previous assault. The victim refused medical treatment and showed no signs of injury. The matter will remain under investigation.

Officer Burnes responded to Maple Street for a report of Jewelry missing from the home. The case will be under investigation.

Officer Jesse Martin took a report of an accident with one driver leaving the scene.

Officers responded to a public park for a report of a court order violation. Charges will be sought.

Officers responded to Seminole Street for a report of property damage. Charges will be filed once the estimated value is obtained.

May 28

Officer Powell responded to the area of the Civic Center for a report of a subject on a bicycle disrupting the training of officers there. They located the suspect when they fled on the bicycle. Officers took them into custody a short time later. This matter will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor.

May 29

Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to Heritage Tractor located on U.S. Hwy 63 for a report of an audible business alarm in the area of the employee entrance. He spoke with a cleaner at the business and assisted management with a walk-through.

Officer Vernon responded to Worcester for a report of a dog bite. They took the dog to the West Plains Animal Control and issued citations for the incident.

The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield, and the Greene County Sheriff's Office executed a residential search warrant on West Deerfield in rural Springfield. The investigation is concerning sexual exploitation of a minor child.

Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Pierce Street for a suicidal subject. Officers contacted the subject and provided the subject with the resources needed to receive mental health help. 

May 30

Sgt. Wichowski responded to the West Plains Motel in regards to a sex offender restrictions violation. An investigation located a suspect and determined they were in violation of sex offender restrictions. 

Officer Vernon responded to Shuttee for a report of assault. Officers discovered a juvenile suspect. A report will be referred to the juvenile office.

The Howell County Sheriff's Office requested digital forensic examinations conducted on several devices as part of an on-going investigation within their jurisdiction.

Officer Dobbs responded to Chen's Garden to assist EMS with a combative patient. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation. While at the hospital, the subject made threats towards staff members. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to prosecutors seeking charges for Terroristic Threats, 1st Degree.

May 31

Officer Kerley responded to 8th Street for a report of peace disturbance. 

Officer Nathaniel responded to Siegrist S. Thayer in reference to stealing. This case will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Jacob Beadell investigated a report of a burglary. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. 

June 1

Officer Vernon responded to a report of property damage. He found a vehicle with spray-painted graffiti.

Officer Vernon investigated a hit and run accident. The highway patrol later located the driver. 

Officer Siegrist investigated a report of harassment. They later located and arrested a suspect. A probable cause statement will be completed and forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
