May 5

Officer Ivie Powell responded to Missouri Avenue for a subject lying on the ground, unconscious and bleeding from the back of the head. Officers gave live saving measures and EMS transported the individual for treatment. The investigation did not reveal any foul play at this time. This matter will be closed.

Officer Jesse Martin took a report of theft. 

Officer Austin Deshazo conducted a traffic stop and arrested an individual for outstanding warrants.

Officer Powell responded to Garner Ave in reference to a deceased person. Investigation determined no foul play took place and this matter will be closed.

Officer Nathaniel Siegrist took a report of identity theft.

Officer Siegrist took a report of a domestic assault. A probable cause statement will be completed and forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officer Jerry Mingus took a report of the theft of a lift jack from a vehicle.

Officer Brent Keepes responded to North Howell Street to serve a warrant. He arrested the individual.

Officer Gill responded to Galloway Park to a report of stealing.

Officer Keepes responded to Jackson Street to speak with an individual regarding child custody violation. Charges will be sought.

Officer Kerley responded to 7th Street to serve a felony warrant. He arrested the individual.

May 6

Officer Kerley responded to Ridgewood for a report of suspicious circumstances. He investigated a case of harassment. 

The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, indicating that Snap Inc. observed a user ID disclose that he molests his children. The investigation is on-going.

Dt. Joe Neuschwander spoke to the parent of a minor female child, reporting instances of the juvenile communicating in a sexual manner and distributing exploitive images with several adult messaging participants on a social media application. The investigation is on-going.

Officer Powell responded to Mitchell Road for a report of a burglary. His investigation learned a suspect broke the lock from the outside cooler and stole a 12 pack of alcohol. This matter remains under investigation.

Officers responded to Lanton Road for a suicidal subject. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare and completed an affidavit for 96-hour mental evaluation.

Officer Keepes responded to Wally’s and Bro’s Tobacco regarding a stolen wallet. They identified a suspect and charges will be sought.

May 7

Officer Daiman Meyer conducted a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner Blvd. He found an individual with an outstanding arrest warrant. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.

Sgt. Joshua Wichowski arrested an individual on outstanding felony warrants.

Officer Powell responded to Division Drive regarding a 911 call with an upset individual that dispatch operators couldn’t understand on the phone. The investigation learned a teen juvenile assaulted an employee of C-Star. They located the juvenile and transported them to the Howell County Juvenile Office and released them to the on-duty Juvenile Officers. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Juvenile Prosecutor.

The Howell County Sheriff's Office requested a digital forensic extraction conducted on a cellular device as part of an on-going investigation within their jurisdiction. They completed the process, and the device and forensic report will be provided to the case agent.

Officer Keepes investigated a stealing incident that occurred on Saint Louis St. He issued a summons to court to one individual. 

May 8

Officer Powell responded to Pine Street regarding a report of a suicidal individual. They located the subject who denied all allegations of being suicidal or homicidal. The subject advised a physical altercation with a family member occurred as the reason for leaving the residence. Officers spoke to the relative who reported the subject had assaulted them multiple times. Officers arrested the suspect and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. A probable cause statement will be completed and forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor.

Officer Miller responded to Ginger Drive for terroristic threats. This case will be referred to the Howell County Juvenile Office.

Officer Dobbs responded to 6th Street for a report of a domestic altercation. No charges will be sought at this time.

May 9

Officer Meyer responded to Aid Avenue for a report of a peace disturbance. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Meyer assisted with a warrant service on County Road 4000. They arrested the individual.

While conducting security checks on local businesses, Cpl. Wesley Stuart found an open door on a building. He secured the building and found no signs of foul play.

Officer Gill responded to Missouri Avenue for a report of cyber crimes. Upon arrival officers met with the victim, and a report will be filed.

Officer Miller responded to a banking institution in West Plains for a report of fraudulent activity. An investigation will be considered open.

Officer Gill responded to Gibson Plaza for a report of stealing. Officers located the suspect, detained them, and issued a citation.

Officer Meyer responded to Halstead for a report of harassment. The investigation learned someone tampered with a vehicle. This case will be open and active pending contact with suspects.

May 10

Officer Deshazo responded to West Second Street for a report of a suspicious individual who entered an unlocked residence. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Sgt. Wichowski conducted a traffic stop and arrested an individual for outstanding warrants.

Officer Beadell responded to Westway for a report of a possible physical domestic. His investigation led to interviews with several individuals. The victim refused to pursue charges. This case will be considered closed.

May 11

An individual flagged down Officer Kerley on US Highway 63. Investigation determined an assault and vehicle theft occurred. The suspects have been identified. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Officer Gill responded to the area of Hoglen Street for a report of a juvenile walking down the roadway. Officers located the juvenile and returned them to their residence safely and without incident.

Officer Mingus took a report of a runaway juvenile from a juvenile facility. They located the juvenile and returned them to the facility.
