April 21

Officer Kerley arrested an individual for an outstanding warrant.

Officer Jerry Mingus responded to a report of harassment through social media.

Cpl. Micah McKemie investigated a child custody violation. He determined a parent did not exchange children according to a parenting plan through the courts. The case will be referred to the prosecutor.

Officer Mingus responded to Porter Wagoner for a Medical Emergency. Investigation found an elderly individual passed from natural causes.

Officer Jacob Miller arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.

April 22

Officer Gill responded to the Howell County Courthouse for a report of a theft.

Officer Gill responded to McFarland Ave for a report of stolen property.

The West Plains Police Department and Howell County Sheriff’s Office executed a joint operation search warrant obtained by the South Central Drug Task Force on County Road 4000 in West Plains.

Officer Dobbs responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a report of possible thefts from vehicles.

April 23

Officer Jacob Beadell investigated a series of stealing from motor vehicles that occurred from the night of April 21st through the early morning of April 22nd in West Plains. He contacted one suspect before arresting them for the offense. This case will be referred to the prosecuting attorney's office.

Officer Chris Barrett took a report of a burglary.

Sgt. Brandon Romans spoke with an individual reporting a theft from his vehicle parked on McFarland Ave. The case will be under investigation.

Officer Brent Keepes took a report of a violation of a child protection order from a resident of Jackson Street. Charges will be sought.

Officer Dobbs took a report of harassment. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors’ Office.

April 24

Officer Conner Burnes spoke with a juvenile reporting they received several phone calls from a private number. When they answered one of the calls, the suspect stated they knew where the juvenile lived and later recited their address. The juvenile received a voicemail where the caller stated they were out to get the juvenile again stated they knew where the juvenile lived. Officers later identified the suspect and arrested them after receiving admission of the threats.

Officer Keepes responded to the area of State Route BB to assist Howell County Sheriff Department. Investigation found an individual trespassing on multiple properties. They issued them a warning and a citation.

Officer Robert Shell conducted a check on an individual walking on the wrong side of the road. Investigation found the individual with an outstanding warrant from Arkansas. 

Officer Kerley responded to a juvenile problem. Investigation found a juvenile stole alcohol from a store within West Plains. Later officers responded to the area of Lambe due to the same juvenile running away. Officers later located the juvenile for transfer to the Detention Center. This case will be referred to the Juvenile Office.

April 25

Officer Ivie Powell arrested an individual on outstanding warrants.

Officer Barrett responded to Parkway Shopping Center for a report of a domestic. He spoke with a couple who stated they did not have a fight.

Officer Shell responded to Lynn St. for a report of stealing.

April 26

Officer Kerley responded to West 1st St. in regard to a domestic altercation. One individual assaulted multiple people in the residence where they reside. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Officer Gill responded to Johnson Street for a report of harassment. Investigation determined that no crime had been committed at this time.

April 27

Officer Kerley responded to an injured deer in the northbound fast lane on US Highway 63. He found the deer significantly injured and humanely euthanized it.

Officer Shell conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Officer Keepes responded to Maple St for a possible suicidal subject. They transported the individual to the hospital for a 96-hour mental evaluation hold.

Officer Mingus took a report of stolen children’s bicycles from West Leyda St.
