December 26

Chief Stetson Schwien responded to a call of a couple fighting in a vehicle. He spoke to the parties and found a verbal argument took place.

Officer Matthew Combs responded to a complaint of a vehicle parked for an extended time with their headlights facing a residence. Officers advised the driver to move from the property.

December 27

Cpl. Kylie McGee responded to a complaint of peace disturbance. She spoke to an individual found yelling out of their window at neighbors.

Officer Koleman McDaniel conducted a requested wellbeing check.

Officer Kris Reinholdt responded to Signal for vehicles loitering in the parking lot.

Cpl. McGee responded to a commercial alarm. She found the building secure. 

Cpl. McGee monitored a child custody exchange.

Cpl. McGee spoke to an individual regarding the misuse of 911.

Chief Schwien responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. His investigation found while an individual removed debris from the roadway, a vehicle struck the debris which in turn struck the individual. 

January 1

Officer Combs responded to a vehicle and deer accident. He stayed with the driver until help arrived. 

January 2

Officer Combs responded to a commercial alarm. An employee admitted to accidentally setting it off.

Officer James Wardrip assisted fire and EMS with a medical call. 

January 3

Officer Reinholdt investigated a complaint of loud music from a vehicle. The vehicle left the area before the officer arrived.

Officer Reinholdt received a second call of loud music from the same vehicle. 

Officer Combs assisted EMS with a medical call.

Officer Wardrip conducted a wellbeing check on an individual parked alongside the road. EMS transported the individual.

Shannon County Sheriff’s Office transported an individual with an outstanding Mountain View warrant to the department. Officer Wardrip assisted the individual with posting bond. 

Officer Wardrip stayed with a parent of children locked inside a vehicle until a tow company could unlock it. 

January 4

Cpl. McGee received a request from Howell County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a traffic stop. 

Asst. Chief Trenton Roberts investigated a death on Elam Street. He determined the individual died from natural causes.

Asst. Chief Roberts responded to Anchor for a gas drive off.

Cpl. McGee spoke with an individual reporting a subject caused a verbal disturbance at Walmart parking lot.

January 5

Officer Reinholdt escorted an individual previously trespassed from a property.

Cpl. McGee issues a citation to an individual previously trespassed from a property after they returned once again.

Asst. Chief Roberts received a call reporting a break-in at Woolsey Car lot. He found one vehicle stolen from the lot and another left behind.  After investigation, he identified the vehicle left on the property as reported stolen from Car mart in West Plains. 

Asst. Chief Roberts conducted a wellbeing check on an individual causing a disturbance near an ATM. The individual left the area.

Asst. Chief Roberts responded to a residential alarm. He found the area secure.

Asst. Chief Roberts attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver continued on and drove erratically. The vehicle eventually stopped and officers arrested the driver. His investigation identified the vehicle as the one stolen from Woosley Car lot. 

Cpl. McGee spoke with an individual regarding a possible stalking case. 

Officer Reinholdt investigated a verbal domestic altercation.

January 6

Chief Schwien responded to a report of children playing on the roof of a business. He took the children home and will return to speak to the parents. 

Chief Schwien received a report of an intoxicated individual falling off their bike. He found the individual who sustained injuries. EMS transported them for treatment.

January 7

Officer McDaniel conducted a traffic stop and arrested an individual on an outstanding Texas County Warrant. He assisted them in posting bond. 

Chief Schwien responded to a report of an assault. His investigation found a dog running at large attacked another. The owner attempted to use a rake to break the dogs apart when the other owner reached for his dog and the rake struck him. 

January 8

Officer Combs responded to an intoxicated individual requesting assistance getting home. He walked the individual across the street to their residence.

 

For the week officers: spoke with six individuals requesting information, conducted two follow up investigations, conducted two area checks, conducted two escorts, gave one courtesy transports, assisted with two animal calls, and issued 26 traffic warnings.
