Calls for Service

May 26

Deputy First Class Talon Millard conducted a traffic stop near Willow Springs. He arrested the driver for driving without a valid license. 

Deputy Timothy Gordon responded to a residence in the West Plains area for an ongoing physical domestic situation. An investigation resulted in an arrest of a suspect for multiple felony domestic assault and child endangerment charges. A Probable Cause statement will be

forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Deputy Brandon Barnes received a call to respond to a domestic disturbance on State Route K. He spoke to one party with the other having left for the night. Later a second call from the first subject stating the other returned and started another altercation. The subject believed the altercation would become physical and removed themselves and the children from the residence. Officers placed the second individual under arrest on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.

May 27

Deputy Barnes spoke with an individual in regard to a violation of a full order of protection. After speaking with the individual and observing text messages sent to their phone, it appears the subject, who is prohibited from contacting them, committed the violation. This investigation will be ongoing.

May 28

Deputy Nicholas Barslow responded to a careless and imprudent driving call in the area of State Route 142.

Deputy Barnes responded to a residence in the West Plains area in regard to a domestic altercation between a parent and adopted child. After speaking with both parties officers ensured no physical altercation took place and neither party made threats of violence to the other. He advised both parties of their options.

May 29

Howell County Public Administrator John Pruett reported a vehicle missing from an estate his office is managing.

Sergeant Seth Smith received a citizen complaint on a deputy assigned to the patrol division. An investigation determined the complaint unfounded.

Deputy Kory Taylor took a report of a stolen firearm.

May 30

Deputy Austin Ryan took a report of a bad check.

Deputy Michael Pauly received a call from Willow Springs Police reporting a death on Grand Street in Willow Springs as deputy coroner.

May 31

Deputy Blaise Dudding responded to County Road 1770 for a report of a suspicious person ringing a doorbell. He did not find anyone in the area.

Corporal Nicholas Bruno responded to an address on Private Road 1511 in reference to a child custody dispute.

Deputy Pauly received a call of property damage on County Road 3450, Mountain View.

June 1

Corporal Travis Weaver assisted the South Central Drug Task force with a traffic stop. He located a vehicle of interest in a narcotics investigation and conducted a traffic stop. He located approximately 5 ounces of white crystal substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Officers arrested two subjects and placed them on a 24-hour hold for trafficking drugs 2nd degree.
