Calls for Service

January 12

Corporal Jacob Hamby spoke with an individual reporting theft by fraud. 

Deputy Avery Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on South Thayer Ave, West Plains.

Deputy Paden Turnbull attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Holloway Drive in Willow Springs. The driver continued at speeds well over the posted limit and did not stop at an intersection and a pursuit began. He located the vehicle at the end of County Road 2410. He found the driver had fled the scene, but he detained the passenger.  An investigative search of the vehicle he seized over a hundred narcotics considered controlled substances without a prescription as well as a white powdery substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine, and assorted paraphernalia. He also found a box of items thrown from the vehicle on County Road 1270 containing more pills and paraphernalia. His investigation also found the passenger to be an employee of FCC Behavior Health Turning Leaf in West Plains. He followed up with FCC Behavior Health Turning Leaf to ensure the narcotics seized were not stolen from there. 

January 13

Deputy Nicholas Barslow took a report of stealing. Further investigation will be conducted on this matter.

Deputy Barslow responded to a call of an assault in the area of Private Road 1783, West Plains. They transported the suspect to the hospital for a mental evaluation. Formal charges will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office.

ORP Fugitive Task Force Officers along with Howell County Deputy located and arrested an individual at his residence located at Old Hwy 60.

ORP Fugitive Task Force Officers along with Texas County Deputies located and arrested a wanted person at a residence on State Route Y north of Mountain View. 

Sergeant Seth Smith responded to a delayed report of a domestic assault on County Road 1770 in West Plains. The incident is under investigation.

January 14

Deputy First Class Colter Reid investigated suspicious circumstances on County Road 4490, Pomona. The matter remains open at this time.

Deputy Chancey Hambelton took a report of theft. 

Deputy Austin DeShazo received information of a previously occurring vehicle fire on at a residence located on State Route 142, West Plains. The vehicle sustained severe damage from the fire. The case shall be considered closed. 

Deputy Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on West Cass St, West Plains.

January 15

Deputy Hambelton responded to Paula Drive for an order of protection violation. He arrested the suspect and charges are pending. 

Deputy First Class Reid responded to County Road 8530, West Plains in reference to a report of stealing. After investigation, he determined the incident to be a civil matter. 

Sergeant Smith took a report of lost or stolen property.

Deputy First Class Reid spoke with a victim in reference to a subject attempting to contact her from the Howell County Jail several times. The Howell County Prosecutor's Office requested a report be forwarded to them for a possible bond revocation.

Deputy Michael Pauly received a call of a stolen vehicle on County Road 1510, Pomona.

Deputy DeShazo responded to Private Road 8209, West Plains for a report of stolen credit cards. The matter will be under investigation.

January 17

Deputy First Class Reid assisted Children's Division with a report of potential child abuse. They observed no evidence of child abuse or neglect.

January 18

Corporal Hamby received a call for service at State Route E, West Plains, in regard to a mental health event.

Deputy Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on Short St, Willow Springs.
