Calls for Service

October 27

Deputy John P Buenger spoke to an individual reporting threats.

Undersheriff Justin Riley received information in reference to an agency assist.

Cpl. Dylan Webb assisted the South Central Child Advocacy Center with a forensic interview their office conducted in reference possible sexual abuse. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputy First Class Robert Malone responded to Dollar General in Pomona for a report of a shoplifting.

Deputy Austin Ryan spoke to a victim wanting to report a violation of an order of protection.

Deputy Tyler West and Deputy Malone responded to the area of County Road 2770 concerning animal abuse. The case will be closed with no formal charges pending.

Deputy Avery Stolba spoke to Billy Sexton Auction Services reporting a previous hit and run. He contacted the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and they are working on the incident.

Deputy Devon B. Mendenhall assisted Children's Division in Willow Springs.

Sgt. Logan Wake began an investigation of an alleged sodomy involving a five-year-old child. This case will be under investigation.

Corporal Travis Weaver responded to the area of County Road 8390 in West Plains for the report of a truck in the middle of the roadway and suspicious activity. His investigation found the owner of the truck had several active warrants out of the West Plains Police Department. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, a glass smoking device and a hairspray canister with a white crystal residue on the bottom of it. The white crystal substance field tested positive for

methamphetamine. The combined weight of the residue in the glass smoking device registered approximately 0.24 grams of methamphetamine. They placed the suspect on a 24-hour hold

pending formal charges.

Cpl. Weaver arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant. 

October 28

Sergeant Seth Smith received a citizen complaint regarding a Deputy in the Patrol Division. An internal Investigation will be completed.

Deputy Beunger investigated allegations of abuse reported at the Glenwood School.

Officers responded to County Road 3740, Mountain View concerning an individual reporting people trying to get into their residence. Their investigation determined the caller suffering from a medical issue. They transported the individual to OZH for a psychological evaluation.

Deputy First Class Robert Malone responded to Ozarks Healthcare Emergency Room for a report of sexual assault.

Deputy Stolba responded to Fairview School for a report of a runaway juvenile walking down State Route K. He located the juvenile and returned to their mother a short time later.

Deputy Michael Pauly received a call of property damage on US Highway 64, West Plains.

Deputy Stolba responded to State Route 17, West Plains, for a property damage call.

October 29

Officers responded to OZH to speak with an individual about an assault.

Cpl. Weaver responded to Katheryn Drive, West Plains, and arrested an individual for stealing.

Deputy Stolba responded to County Road 5120, Willow Springs, for suspicious activity. There je found a structure fire at an abandoned residence and dispatched local fire departments. Due to the nature of the initial call and the structure fire within close proximity to the initial call, he requested the Missouri Fire Marshals. This is an ongoing investigation.

Deputy Kory Taylor received a call for service for threats made to an individual.

Deputy Taylor responded to a call for service on County Road 6540 West Plains in regards to a domestic dispute.

October 30

Deputy Austin DeShazo obtained information regarding a sex offender residing in Howell County that has not registered. After an investigation, he discovered the individual living in Missouri and not registered per court order. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Deputy DeShazo received a letter from an individual alleging his wife had been sexually assaulted. After speaking with the victim, he found the assault never occurred.

October 31

Deputy Kyle Hambelton conducted a traffic stop and found the passenger in violation of a Full Order of Protection and arrested and transported to the Howell County Sheriff's Office pending charges.

Deputy Hambelton arrested an individual on outstanding warrants and found them in possession of a controlled substance.

November 1

Deputy Hambelton responded to Wiley’s Fence in West Plains for an individual camping in a tent on the side of the road. His investigation found the individual anon-compliant registered sex offender. He arrested and transported them to the Howell County Sheriff's Office pending charges.

Corporal Timothy Gordon responded to a location in the Mountain View area, to take a report of a burglary that occurred earlier in the day. The incident will be turned over to the investigation division and will be ongoing.

November 2

Sgt. Logan Wake discovered trash dumped on Forest Service Road 423, Willow Springs. He recovered an address from the trash and contacted the person responsible. The suspect admitted to dumping the trash and stated they were on their way to recover it. This incident is closed.

Officers responded to county road 5800 in Willow Springs for a possible court order violation.

Deputy Stolba responded to County Road 2570, West Plains for neglected dogs. His investigation found two dogs deceased in the roadway, and three dogs with the initial reporting party. This is an ongoing case.
