Calls for Service

February 17

Deputy Nicholas Barslow responded to a call for service in the area of Private Road 5690 located in Willow Springs for a report of trespassing. They took the suspect into custody. Deputy Barslow later made an arrest in a separate incident while investigating another call in the area of North Center involving the same subject.

February 18

Corporal Travis Weaver conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle operating in a careless and imprudent manner on Rhonda Drive in West Plains. The vehicle failed to yield to audible sirens and emergency lights. After a short pursuit the vehicle came to a stop, and they apprehended the driver. Formal charges for felony resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended or revoked, and operating a motor vehicle in a careless & imprudent manner will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

February 19

Deputy Chancey Hambelton conducted a warrant service on County Road 3010. While making the arrest of the individual, officers located drug paraphernalia. They were granted a search warrant for the residence and located suspected methamphetamine along with more drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Avery Stolba responded to an address on State Route 17, West Plains, in reference to a juvenile offense. Charges will be sent to the Juvenile Office for further review.

Sergeant Seth Smith received a call for service of a domestic situation on County Road 5800 near Willow Springs. Formal charges will be sought on both parties involved.

Cpl. Nicholas Bruno took a report of property damage. The case remains under investigation.

February 20

Cpl. Bruno conducted a traffic stop on State Route E resulting in the arrest of the driver for driving while revoked and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Formal charges will be filed with the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

February 21

Deputy Robert Malone responded to State Route JJ for a death investigation.

Deputy Hambelton took a report of a court order violation.

February 22

Deputy First Class Brandon Meachum responded to County Road 1280 for a dog struck by a vehicle. Investigation revealed the dog on the road at the time of impact. 

Deputy First Class Meachum made an arrest for stealing. A probable cause affidavit will be sent to

the Howell County Prosecutors Office.
