Hello Howell County!
Dry, Dry, Dry again!  June and July were terribly hot and dry. August was very wet for most of Howell County, but it is getting dangerously dry again, but the cool fall weather is here. Billy and Calvin have some hard surface roads that are still being resurfaced for winter. The low water slabs that went out for replacement are almost complete.  
The County Clerk’s office is busy getting ready for the November 8th General Election. A valid government-issued photo ID is required for the first time in the state of Missouri. Absentee voting began on September 28th, which the office is opened from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Don’t forget to vote in the November 8th General Election. You need to be registered by Oct. 12, 2022 in order to vote in this election. The office will be open on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for absentee voting as well for those voters who are unable to come during the week.    
The Howell County Collector’s office is preparing the 2022 Personal and Real Estate Tax Statements, which will be ready to be mailed out to the residents of Howell County.  
The Howell County Commission has been busy receiving applications and approving various grants for the Sheriff’s Department, Juvenile Office and other Howell County offices. The Commission is continuing to review ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) applications. The Commission recently declared October Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Howell County Commission recently attended a groundbreaking ceremony in Caulfield for a new 4-bay fire station, which is being funded with a CDBG (Community Development Block Grant), which the county is the sponsor for this project.   
Flu season is upon us. Don’t forget to get your flu vaccination.  
The 2020 Howell County plat books are still available for $35 and maps are available for $40 at the Howell County Clerk’s Office.  
All the Commissioners are in the office every Monday and Thursday. Come by and see us.
