Dear editor,
I comment the Willow Springs and surrounding communities for the great support of Willow Springs first ever Veteran’s Day Parade held Saturday, November 8. The parade idea and organization was spearheaded by Josh Weise for his Senior Project. Josh needs to be congratulated on a job well done, an event well-planned. The parade was well attended for entries and spectators alike, especially for a first time event. The weather was great and the mood patriotic. I currently have three nephews serving our nation in the military, two in the Army, one Air Force. Our military personnel, both active and retired, need to be shown we do appreciate their service and sacrifice. The freedom we enjoy daily isn’t free, it never has been and will it ever be.
Going forward, I hope this parade will become an annual event the Saturday before Veteran’s Day.
Tony Duddridge,
Willow Springs
