On Saturday, May 7, Good Graces Pharmacy enjoyed a wonderful and fun day at our annual Friends & Family Cookout! We want to thank the community for such a great turnout for food, show cars, and friendship all while thanking God for such wonderful weather. It was a busy weekend with Willow Springs graduation on Friday, Mother's Day on Sunday, and a lot of family parties in between. Even with all the activities going on, we had cars numbered from 1 to 21 lined up to win Best-In-Show. Over 300 hamburgers and 100 hotdogs, prepared by Willow Springs' own grillmaster Adam Webb, were served with 400 cookies along with all the trimmings - all sponsored by or purchased locally at G&W Foods and Subway of Willow Springs. In addition, over 350 bags of chips and over 400 bottles of water were provided to the community. All the food was provided free of charge for all who came out for the Friends & Family Cookout.
In addition to the prizes of flowers, Bibles, cups, clip magnets, and other goodies from Good Graces Pharmacy, we also had a lot of door prizes donated by local businesses. These donors included: Southern Bank of WP, Pizza Americana, H&M Ranch, Kathy Collins' The Mane Place, West Plains Bank of WS, Chris Duncan MO Farm Bureau Insurance, YMCA of WS, O'Reilly's of WS, Amy Reavis' New Image, Simmons Bank of WS, Friga Tire, US Bank of WS, C&R Gun/Lee's Tire, Mid Ozark Insurance Agency, Carrie Good's Cross Hairs, South Central Missouri Credit Union of WS, Bailey Chevy, Randy's Automotive and Small Engine, Donnie Wells American Family Insurance, and Solomon Cornelius & Kim Conder of MONARK Realty. We would like to thank this caring community for helping make this day so much fun and assisting us with giving away over $1,500 worth of prizes!
Winners of the door prizes were: Wallace Chevis, Mary Elijah, Vicki, Joseph, Lou Wehmer, Mike Anderson, Jonathan, Connie Rabun, Abi Wall, Don Hodo, Olive Bowen, Niylah Ridgon, Karen Foster, Tom Bridges, Bob Berry, Mary Goolsby, Joyce Wiley, Anna Roberts, Bob Hinds, Tom Jones, Linda Grant, Lisa Murdy, Pat Stoops, Dave Wehmner, and Betty Carlson. The Grand Prize "Welcome Home: Build your own Flower Garden" donated by Solomon Cornelius & Kim Conder of MONARK Realty (over $200 value) was won by Sharon Rabun.
In addition to door prizes, we also held a mini Health Fair inside the store with a variety of booths. Thank you to Westwood Home Health, Westwood Rural Health Clinic, Compassus, Ann Hines' Main Street Wellness Center, Three Rivers Hospice, and ABC Children's Behavioral Services for providing information on local care options for our communities! Some of these health groups also held drawings of their own. Jared Wilson won the Westwood basket of bandages and blood pressure kit. Compassus had three winners: Cindy Wilson, a large cooler; Regina Owens, a small cooler; and Shad Bowen, a hanging basket of flowers. Main Street Wellness Center had a large basket of goodies that was won by Virginia Maramba. Congrats to all winners!
Out of all those magnificent automobiles present, three vehicles were chosen by community attendees of the Friends & Family Cookout for Best in Show. Coming in 3rd Place was Bob Berry & Mary Goolsby's 1946 Studebaker. Second place was won by Sharon Rabun with her 1957 Chevy BelAir. Taking Best-In-Show was Tyler McCormick's 2008 Ford Mustang Roush 427R. The prizes for the car show were sponsored by Bailey Chevy, Randy's Automotive and Small Engine, and Donnie Wells American Family Insurance. Thanks to all in attendance and sharing your favorite prize-winning vehicles with us!
We were pleased to have Headmaster Joel Hinds of the local Neighborhood Christian Schools present, providing an ongoing fundraising opportunity to help maintain affordability for private Christian education in the surrounding community. Raffle tickets are still available through August 25, 2022 at Good Graces Pharmacy for your chance to win a Mission MXB 360 Crossbow or your choice of 2 queen-sized quilts made locally with love that were donated to the school for fundraising purposes. Enrollment is ongoing for the Fall 2022 school year but the deadline is quickly approaching. For more information, visit www.classicalncs.com.
We wish to give a special shout of appreciation to a great community of businesses, family, and friends (new and old) for supporting us as the locally-owned, hometown independent pharmacy. Without such great support, we would not be able to serve such awesome people in all their healthcare needs directly at home. We hope in the next year that you too shall stay in God's Good Graces and join us next year, Saturday, May 13, 2023 (the Saturday of Mother's Day Weekend) for another great cookout and even more fun for all!
