Moment in the Word

Nahum 1:7 - The Lord is good to them that wait on him in the day of affliction; and he knows them that reverence him. (Brenton's 1851 Greek Septuagint)
David gladly acknowledged, "How good is God to Israel, to the upright in heart!" Then, during his affliction, he briefly turned his eyes from God, "But my feet were almost overthrown; my goings very nearly slipped. For I was jealous of the transgressors, beholding the tranquility of sinners...They are not in the troubles of other men... (Psalms 73:1-5/Psalms 72:1-5 Brenton's 1851 Greek Septuagint)
However, David probably just imagined that sinners have an easier life since "the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence." God's Word actually says, "Sound discretion gives favour, and to know the law is the part of a sound understanding: but the ways of scorners tend to destruction." Proverbs 13:15 (Brenton's 1851 Greek Septuagint) - So, the life of a transgressor is even harder because they don't have God to trust for help.
St. Paul said this, "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 - We are able to overcome every storm and hardship because of the Rock upon which we rest!
This is the promise that St. Paul gave Timothy, "Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: 'The Lord knows those who are his,' and, 'Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.'" (2 Timothy 2:19)
