Letter to the Editor:

The Alumni Association should consider restoring the legacy annual Alumni banquet at the Munford gym. It has been for so many years a well-respected formal event that provides an opportunity for the special recognition of the WSHS 50th graduation class as well as the current graduates who have been awarded scholarships. 

The Banquet was cancelled in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021 we had an outdoor event at the airport that was designed as a substitute for the traditional banquet event. It was essentially outdoors facilitating the need for social distancing and was very successful in maximizing alumni socialization. 

However, going forward, we should return to our legacy banquet which will enable us to restore the capability of special class and scholarship award recognition, while at the same time maximizing the opportunity for alumni socialization.
