Billy Joe Labbee

Billy Joe Labbee, son of Robert Labbee and Eula Stringer, was born on October 16, 1962, in Houston, Missouri. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 12, 2026, at the age of 63. Billy married Sharon Smith on September 8, 1981, to this union four children were born. 

 

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; his youngest son, Nathan Labbee; granddaughter, Emily Freeman; brother, Robert (Bobby) Labbee; sisters, Sandra Labbee and Sherry Collins. And several nieces and nephews. 

 

Billy is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; daughter, Billie Jo Bunch and husband, Obie of Willow Springs, MO; sons, Michael Labbee and wife, Kasandra of Bunker, MO, Jason Labbee and wife, Cindy of Sullivan, MO; three sisters, Rhonda Shoultz and husband, David of Hartshorn, MO, Teresa Simpson and husband, Brian of South Carolina, and Tonya Lumley and husband, Kelly of Elkland, MO; three brothers, Larry Labbee and wife, Kristeena of Hartshorn, MO, Tim Labbee and wife, Pattie of Elkland, MO, Terry Labbee and wife, Angie of Branson, MO; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. 

 

Billy had worked as a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator; there was no job he couldn’t do. He loved to recite movie lines and had a great sense of humor and showed it through the many pranks he pulled on almost everyone he knew. He loved to cook and made the best chili. He found joy in mowing and competing with the neighbors. But his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play. Billy loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. And he wanted everyone to know, “He died from caring too much!” LOL!

 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 16, at Antioch Cemetery in Hartshorn with Chaplain James Trimmer officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston, MO. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com.
