December 8
Deputy Kory Tayler served an arrest warrant on Private Road 6250, West Plains.
Deputy Tyler Ryan had a consensual encounter with a subject in the parking lot of the 14 Junction gas station. While speaking with them, Deputy Ryan determined the individual had an active out-of-state felony warrant.
Corporal Jacob Hamby responded to State Route K in West Plains in regard to a disturbance between a mother and juvenile daughter. They transported the juvenile to a local hospital to receive mental health help.
Deputy Nicholas Barslow spoke with an individual about a report of a sexual offense involving a juvenile in West Plains. Further investigation is needed into this case, and it will be forward to the Criminal Investigation Division.
Corporal Hamby initiated a traffic stop on County Road 8620, West Plains. He arrested a subject for possession of a controlled substance.
Deputy First Class Robert Malone took a report of a domestic incident.
Corporal Travis Weaver responded to the Rest Inn Motel in West Plains for a disturbance.
Corporal Weaver responded to the area of County Road 3740 in Mountain View for the report of an assault.
December 9
ORP Task Force Officers learned of a wanted subject from Douglas County they believed to reside in the Birch Tree area. An investigation discovered the subject worked at the city of Mtn. View as a volunteer firefighter. Officers contacted the subject to respond to the police department and they agreed to do so. ORP Task Force Officers took them into custody without incident.
Deputy Devon Mendenhall took a report of possible identity theft.
Deputy Avery Stolba spoke with an individual requesting to report a court order violation. Charges will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutors' Office for further review.
Deputy Barslow responded to a call for a domestic altercation in the area of State Route 14. The victim did not want to press charges. This case will be closed at this time.
Corporal Weaver took a report of stealing.
Deputy Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on Rhonda Drive, West Plains.
December 10
Deputy Leekota Amore took a report of a stolen cell phone at the West Plains Middle School.
Deputy Barnes received a call for service regarding verification for a title for a vehicle.
Deputy Barslow conducted a warrant arrest on Pennsylvania Ave, West Plains.
Deputy Barslow responded to a stealing call in the area of County Road 1610, West Plains. The Postal Service will be notified in this matter.
Deputy First Class Colter Reid responded to County Road 8690, West Plains in reference to a report of shots fired. No charges will be sought at this time.
December 11
Deputy First Class Reid responded to Private Road 2787, Mountain View in reference to a requested wellbeing check. A hotline call will be made to Missouri Children's Division.
December 12
Deputy Barnes responded to a domestic disturbance on County Road 8240. The parties separated with one agreeing to leave for the night.
Deputy Austin DeShazo completed a requested inspection of a trailer.
December 13
Deputy Kyle Hambelton responded to County Road 4490 in Pomona for an assault.
Deputy Barnes received a call for service regarding an intoxicated person jumping into traffic and chasing cars. He located the subject and detained them due to actively attempting to walk into traffic. While detained the individual assaulted Deputy Barnes and resisted attempts to place them into a patrol vehicle for roadside safety multiple times. They took the subject into custody and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges after they made several threats against officers’ lives.
Deputy Michael Pauly received a call of a mentally impaired individual on Private Road 7120, West Plains. The family earlier took a weapon away from the individual and they transported them to ER for help.
December 14
Deputy DeShazo received information of a possible impaired driver traveling south on U.S. Highway 63 from Willow Springs. He located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. He arrested the driver for driving a vehicle with excessive Breath Alcohol Content. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Corporal Hamby responded to Private Road 2018 in West Plains to a disturbance between husband and wife.
