Rex Walter Berry

June 19, 1982 – November 28, 2025

 

With deep love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Rex Walter Berry the son of Rickie Jesse Berry and Rebecca Ann Berry, a devoted husband, father, granddad, and faithful servant of the Lord, who entered his heavenly home on November 28, 2025. Born on June 19, 1982, Rex lived a life overflowing with purpose, joy, and unwavering devotion to God and to the family he cherished above all else.

 

Rex loved the Lord with a fierce and genuine passion. Sharing the Word of God was one of his greatest callings whether through heartfelt conversations, moments of prayer, or the countless acts of kindness that revealed his deeply rooted faith. His walk with the Lord was steady and sincere, and it touched everyone who crossed his path.

 

Rex's wife, Brittney, and his children: Hailie, Shelby, Madalyn, Isabella, Dominic, and Isaac were truly his whole world. He poured his heart into being a loving husband and a dedicated father, always leading with patience, strength, and gentleness. His grandchildren, Luxley and Isaiah, brought him immeasurable joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

 

A man with an adventurous spirit, Rex embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved rafting, canoeing, riding dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, working on Mustangs, and exploring the outdoors. Whether navigating a river or tinkering under the hood of a car, he approached every experience with skill, laughter, and a contagious excitement.

 

Rex also devoted countless hours to Hammond Mill Bible Camp, where he faithfully served on the board and as a director. The camp was dear to his heart, providing a place where he could pour into others, mentor young people, and share the love of Jesus. His leadership and compassion left a lasting impact on generations of campers.

 

Rex leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and adventure. Those who knew him will forever remember his steady presence, his deep devotion to the Lord, and his unwavering commitment to his family. While our hearts ache with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Rex is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. His life, love, and testimony will continue to shine through the memories shared, the lives he touched, and the faith he inspired in others.

 

Rex is preceded in death by his children Lily Ann Nicole Berry and Isaiah James Berry; his brother David Recie Berry; his paternal grandparents Jesse Clifford Berry and Golda Almeda Sanders Berry; and his maternal grandparents Falus James East and Wanda Maybelle Hartel East

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Genesis Church on Monday, November 1, at 2 pm.
