January 24

Officer Dylan Vice spoke with individuals walking in the roadway advising them to stay on the shoulder and not in the middle. 

Officer Vice conducted a requested wellbeing check on an individual who was found to be doing well. 

Assistant Chief Stetson Schwien responded to Highway 60 for a medical call. He remained with the patient until EMS arrived.

Officers spoke to an individual requesting information and issued two traffic warnings.

January 25

Lt. Trenton Roberts assisted an individual identifying stolen property.

Lt. Roberts took a report of stealing from Walmart.

Lt. Roberts conducted a safety check on two individuals attempting to enter a locked car. 

Officers spoke to two individuals requesting information or assistance.

January 27

Cpl. Kylie McGee assisted an individual with a request to check the recovered stolen items. 

Cpl. McGee responded to the library for a report of a disturbance. They mediated a resolution regarding an overdue library fee.

Lt. Roberts responded to Jackson Street for a report of a dog that killed a neighbor’s chicken. Later Lt. Roberts returned to the scene as the dog returned and killed more chickens. They called animal control to take the dog.

Officers spoke to three individuals requesting information or assistance and issued two traffic warnings.

January 28

Cpl. McGee conducted a safety check on an individual parked on the roadside. She provided directions.

Officer Dylan Cook assisted first responders with a medical call until EMS arrived. 

January 29

Officer Cook conducted a security check on a report of an individual checking doors on the elementary school.

Cpl. McGee conducted a requested wellbeing check.

Cpl. McGee responded to Valley View regarding a verbal dispute and a vehicle one party had left behind.

Cpl. McGee received a report of an individual entering the school stating they were assaulted. The SRO placed the school on a soft lockdown in case the assailant returned to the area of the school. Officers located the subject. Cpl. McGee arrested the individual on outstanding warrants.

Cpl. McGee assisted Children’s Division with an investigation.

Asst. Chief Schwien investigated a non-injury vehicle accident at Sonic.

Officers spoke to four individuals requesting information or assistance.

January 30

Officer Cook responded to a neighbor dispute. The parties agreed to separate.

Officers issued two traffic warnings.

January 31

Officer Vice investigated a residential alarm. 

Officers spoke to six individuals requesting information or assistance and issued nine traffic warnings.

February 1

Lt. Roberts responded to McDonalds for a non-injury accident report. The drivers refused an official report.

Officers spoke to an individual requesting information and issued seven traffic warnings.

February 2

Officer Vice attempted to catch two dogs running at large on West Highway 60. 

Officer Vice investigated a non-injury vehicle accident at Taco Bell.

Officer Vice conducted a requested wellbeing check on children playing in the roadway on Delp Road. He found the children in the driveway under the supervision of parents.

Officers spoke to an individual requesting information and issued four traffic warnings.

February 3

Cpl. McGee removed debris from the roadway.

Cpl. McGee and Off. Vice conducted a requested wellbeing check. 

February 4

Asst. Chief Schwien responded to a report of a dog that attacked another dog and then bit the owner when he tried to break up the fight. 

Lt. Roberts conducted a requested wellbeing check on Y Highway.

Lt. Roberts responded to North Pine for a report of reckless driving.

February 5

Officer Cook assisted an individual requesting medical assistance. 

Cpl. McGee responded to a report of a verbal dispute. He spoke to the couple involved.

Cpl. McGee responded to a report of dogs running at large.

Officers spoke to three individuals requesting information or assistance.

February 6

Officer Cook assisted with a dispute over a parenting plan and a father who wished to see his children.

Cpl. McGee responded for a report of a possible theft. Investigation found the previous evening the individual spent money while intoxicated and didn’t remember.

Cpl. McGee received a request for assistance from an individual who fell on the roadway. She helped them up, gave them a courtesy ride, and assisted the individual in cleaning up an injury.

Officers issued six traffic warnings.

February 7

Officer Cook assisted with a verbal dispute.

Asst. Chief Schwien responded to a residential alarm. 

Cpl. Alexis Johnson conducted a traffic stop, and a subject became hostile before fleeing the scene nearly striking the officer and Chief James Perkins. When the subject drove away, they discarded possible methamphetamine out of the window. The subject drove through a chain link fence while fleeing and pursuit initiated.

Officers issued three traffic warnings.

February 8

Officer Vice responded to a dispute between family members. The owner of the residence yelled at Officer Vice and Lt. Roberts before they could calm the situation.

Lt. Roberts assisted family services with an investigation.

Cpl. Johnson conducted a traffic stop on a subject found smoking marijuana while going through McDonald’s drive through.

February 9

Officer Reinholdt investigated a report of trespassing.

Officer Vice responded to a domestic dispute. He found a verbal argument took place and the parties calmed down.

Officer Vice conducted a safety check on an individual sitting in the park.

Officer Reinholdt took a report of a gas drive off at Anchor.

February 10

Officer Reinholdt assisted EMS with a medical call.

Asst. Chief Schwien conducted a wellbeing check on an individual outside the dentist’s office.

Asst. Chief Schwien assisted family services with an investigation.

Officer Vice removed a deer carcass from the roadway.

February 11

Cpl. McGee took a report of stolen license plates.

Cpl. McGee assisted a Howell County deputy with a subject arrested on a Mountain View warrant.

Cpl. McGee assisted an individual reporting property damage.

Cpl. McGee conducted a requested wellbeing check. She found the individual in an abandoned building and informed them they could not stay there.
