Willow Springs Family Dollar/Dollar Tree Now Open

The doors opened at Willow Springs’ latest retail store at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9. The long awaited Family Dollar/Dollar Tree location has been under construction since last fall and saw a lively influx of shoppers on its first day in business. Howell County News took a tour of the store with manager Josh Whipkey on opening day. The Willow Springs location is Whipkey’s fifth store opening.
According to Whipkey, the dual location brings something new, “a new atmosphere” to Willow Springs, and he expects the Dollar Tree segment to attract shoppers to town from other areas. From the Dollar Tree offerings, shoppers can expect “high flow” crafting and seasonal inventory, meaning that the selection will change frequently and items, once sold out, may not be available again.
In addition to the home goods, party supplies, and automotive sections, the new location features an entire wall of freezers. Green labeled freezer shelves hold Dollar Tree merchandise, priced at one dollar per item. Red labeled shelves hold national brands offered by the Family Dollar segment. The two segments are intermingled throughout the aisles, although both the Family Dollar and Dollar Tree items are easily differentiated by their price tags.
The new location stands at the intersection of Main and Cherry Streets in Willow Springs. Store hours are 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week.
