Rich files for W.S. mayor

Alderwoman and mayor pro tem Kim Rich filed to run for Willow Springs mayor on Dec. 13, confirms City Clerk Heather Tooley. Rich is currently serving an unexpired term as Ward I alderwoman. She has previously served as mayor from 2015 to 2017.

Incumbent Mayor Brooke Fair has not filed for re-election as of press time, nor has anyone else.

“If elected, I’m hoping to provide continuity and leadership to the community,” Rich told Howell County News. “As always, I try my best to support local businesses and am supportive of public safety.”

If Rich wins the seat, she as mayor, will nominate her replacement alderman. Her choice would require a vote of approval from the board of aldermen.

Seats currently held by Aldermen Danny Bradley and Phill Knott are both up for election in April, but according to Tooley, no candidates have yet filed for those seats.

Candidate filing for these offices is taking place at Willow Springs City Hall during regular business hours until Dec. 31.
