Harlin Museum hosts Spring Art Show Artist Reception

The Harlin Museum of West Plains held its Artist Reception on Saturday, April 26, celebrating the culmination of the 2024 Spring Art Show. The event was well attended by art enthusiasts, supporters, and members of the local community.
 
Best of Show was awarded to Beth Ivens of Henderson, Arkansas, for her watercolor painting Point of View. This intricately detailed piece features a photographer in an open market and captivated both the judges and audience alike.
 
The People's Choice Award went to Sylvia Bigger for her vibrant oil painting Colorful Cat, which also earned 3rd place in the Animals category.
 
Additional winners in the Animals category included: 1st Place: Marvelous Mantis by Twilah Hiari of Mountain View; 2nd Place: Wild Horses by Gladys Morris; and 3rd Place: Colorful Cat by Sylvia Bigger.
 
Winners in the Landscape category were: 1st Place: Around the Bend by Lee Copin of Mountain View, Missouri; 2nd Place: Fall by the Stream by Lonnie Meuser of West Plains, Missouri; and 3rd Place: Carolina in the Morning by Lee Copin.
 
Honorable Mentions: Wilder Springs by Lonnie Meuser, B. Nelson's War of the Ozarks by Edwin L. Woolsey of Willow Springs, and Quiet Sunrise by Gladys Morris of West Plains
 
In the Abstract category: 1st Place: Outer Limits by Dustin Smith of West Plains; 2nd Place: Big Portals by Donna Lay of West Plains; and 3rd Place: Iron Butterfly by Donna Lay.
 
In the People category: 1st Place: Jazz Man by Beth Ivens; 2nd Place: Café du Monde by Beth Ivens; and 3rd Place: Wednesday by Joshua Trudell.
 
With so many exceptional works on display, the judging process was undoubtedly challenging. The Harlin Museum extends its heartfelt congratulations to all participating artists.
