Father of Four Perishes in Crash

A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the life of Thelmer Ray “TR” Davis in Willow Springs on May 5. According to the accident report from the Willow Springs Police Department, Davis was traveling west on State Route 76 at Willow Rd. when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a vehicle traveling in the eastbound land. 
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:45 p.m. The driver of the vehicle in the eastbound lane was identified as Kyle Hogan, of Willow Springs. Dash cam footage from Hogan’s vehicle showed that the motorcycle crossed the center line and impacted the sedan at a high rate of speed, Assistant Chief Wes Ellison told Howell County News. 
Hogan was “badly shaken, but did not report any injury,” reads the accident release. There was no evidence of impairment by either party. 
Willow Springs Ambulance, Troop G, and Willow Springs Fire Department responded to the scene. Medical personnel administered CPR at the scene, but Davis succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Howell County Coroner Tim Cherry. Davis was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 
 
 
Benefit Planned
TR Davis was a resident of Willow Springs, a beloved husband, and father of four. A benefit auction has been planned for his family on May 22 at 5:00 p.m. at Booster Field in Willow Springs. Food will be sold. The menu includes pulled pork, burgers, and brats. Cartender delivery service will deliver food to anyone who buys a dinner plate, and provide free rides to the event.
There will be a silent and live auction featuring Yeti coolers, a motorcycle helmet and jacket, gift baskets, gift certificates to many local businesses. Raffle tickets will be sold for two firearms.
