Willow Springs chess team competes in Forsyth

The Willow Springs Chess Team did great at the Forsyth tournament on Saturday (K–8 division). Elementary student Michael Iacovlev won three of his six games, placing in the top ten and helping the team earn second place overall. In middle school, Ayden Bennett and Kane Bennett each won four games and finished near the top of the standings. Heidi Bennett won three games and landed in the top ten, Brennan Dye won two, and Lachlann Burton earned a win and a draw. Together, the middle school players secured second place as a team. Congratulations to all. The next tournament will be held in Salem, Mo. on Saturday, Nov. 22.
