West Plains Superintendent Departs for Ozark

The Ozark Board of Education has hired Dr. Lori Wilson as the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Business and Chief Financial Officer. This was done through a vote at the May 12 school board meeting.
According to a press release on the Ozark School District's webpage, Wilson will replace the current Assistant Superintendent of Business and Chief Financial Officer, Tammy Short, who is taking a leave of absence for the 2022-23 school year.
Wilson will rejoin Ozark School District on July 1. Beginning her administrative career in 2009 as Ozark High School assistant principal, Wilson went on to serve as the Nixa Junior High principal, Aurora Schools assistant superintendent and has served as the West Plains School District superintendent since 2018.
“I am excited to be back at the Ozark School District,” said Wilson. “I can’t wait to work with the faculty and staff on the wonderful initiatives that are happening in this district. Ozark is a highly regarded district with the reputation for always basing decisions on the quality of educational experiences for our children. I can’t wait to be a Tiger again.”
Wilson obtained a bachelor's degree in business and accounting and a teaching certificate from College of the Ozarks, a master’s degree in business administration from Drury University, a master’s degree in secondary administration from William Woods University, a specialist’s degree in educational administration and a doctorate of education in education leadership both from Southwest Baptist University.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Wilson back in Ozark,” said Ozark Superintendent Dr. Chris Bauman. “Her skillset and leadership will help the District continue to move forward.”
