The Liberty Lady Eagles will kick off their 2022 season in Licking on Monday, August 29. The first two home games of the season will be played that week on Tuesday, August 30 against Poplar Bluff and Thursday, September 1 against West Plains.
Head Coach Shari Tune will enter into her 11th year coaching the Lady Eagles. "My goal this season is to always compete on the court, in the classroom and in life," stated Coach Tune. "If the girls are stepping out of their comfort zone, our potential is high this season."
The Lady Eagles will face a tough conference facing off against a very challenging non-SCA schedule. "Our tournaments along with the schedule are very competitive. We will see the best of all classes this year," Coach Tune added about the schedule.
Returning to the court are three seniors Lyla Cornman, Kenzie Daniels and Ellie Watts. "I expect leadership, grit and a 'no regrets season' from these seniors," commented Coach Tune. "I expect them to be the best teammates."
Along with Tune's seniors, ten players will return to the court with seven freshman. "All of my returning players will make an impact this season. Whether it's skills, leadership, work ethic, offense, defense or both, they all have a purpose and a job to do," Coach Tune said. "For my freshman, I always expect them to step outside of their comfort zone and to push themselves. To immerse themselves into the Liberty Volleyball program and represent themselves well."
Coach Tune concluded, "Liberty Volleyball is a fun, tough, competitive, lesson for life. I thank the good Lord above daily for allowing me to be a part of this tradition."
Games times for home games are slated to begin around 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. depending on the teams competing playing a "C" set. Make sure to come out and support your Liberty Lady Eagles on Tuesday, August 30 and Thursday, September 1.
