January 2
Officer Christ Siegrist responded to a business on Washington Avenue for an alarm. He discovered someone had tampered with a door. The investigation will continue.
Corporal Wesley Stuart responded to Simpson Street in reference to the theft of a knife.
Officer Joel Lovelace responded to Cole Street for a report of an assault. A report will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
Officer Stephens spoke with a subject concerned with questionable content on their child’s computer. The matter was turned over to the detectives’ division.
Officer Keepes responded to North Howell Avenue for an assault. EMS transported one person for a mental health evaluation. A report will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor for possible charges.
Sergeant Colter Reid responded to Columbus Street in reference to a report of property damage. 
Officer Keepes responded to Lanton Road for a report of a runaway juvenile. He located the juvenile and transported them to the hospital for a mental evaluation. During the investigation Officer Keepes learned of property damage committed by the juvenile. A report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
January 3
Sergeant Brandon Romans investigated a report of a disturbance. He found a verbal argument had taken place between two family members. No charges are expected at this time.
Officer Ivie Powell responded to Catalina Drive for a possible overdose. EMS transported the subject for mental evaluation.
Officer Lovelace responded to Division Drive for a report of a runaway juvenile. The case is open and under investigation. 
Officer Lovelace took a report on Holiday Lane regarding a theft. The case will be forwarded to the detectives’ division.
Officer Connor Burnes responded to Pamela Drive for a report of a runaway. He located the juvenile and returned them to the parents. 
Officer Powell took a report of property damage from Second Street.
Officer Lovelace took a report of property damage from Holiday Lane.
Officer Martin responded to a report of hit and run accident on East Third Street. He identified a subject and charges are being sought.
January 4
Officer Jacob Brixey responded to State Route K for a possible overdose. EMS transported the subject for mental evaluation. 
Detective Joe Neuschwander assisted the Howell County Sheriff’s Office with digital forensics on a cellular device. 
Officer Keepes responded to Oregon Street regarding a domestic assault between a juvenile and a parent.
January 5
Detective Neuschwander and the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield and Springfield Police Department served a residential search warrant concerning the sexual exploitation of children in Springfield, MO. Several items were seized as evidence and one subject taken into custody pending formal charges. 
Detective Neuschwander and the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children indicating a parent observed their child extorted for monetary exchange for non-dissemination of child sexual abuse material. They identified a victim living in West Plains and the matter is under investigation.
Corporal Thomas Manning responded to a restaurant on Preacher Roe Blvd for a disturbance. He arrested one individual for possession of a controlled substance. 
Officer Barrett responded to Webster Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. He took a report of a dirt bike removed overnight from the residence. The case is forwarded to the detectives’ division. 
Officer Stephens took a report of a stolen phone. The matter is under investigation.
January 6
Detective Neuschwander and the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children indicating that a social media platform observed a file depicting child sexual assault. The suspect is identified as residing in Howell County. The investigation will continue.
Sergeant Romans learned an inmate in the West Plains Police Department Jail caused damage to the jail. Charges are being requested for two counts of destruction of jail property. 
Officer Stephens responded to a business on Preacher Roe Blvd for a report of shoplifting. He issued citations to two individuals. 
Corporal Micah McKemie took a report regarding attempted sexual assault between juveniles. The report will be forwarded to the detectives’ division.
January 7
Officer Heuchelin responded to State Route CC for a roll over vehicle accident. They transported one subject who was arrested for driving while intoxicated and place on a 12-hour hold.
Sergeant Reid responded to Bartley Street for a report of domestic assault. He took one subject into custody to place on a 24-hour hold. A report will be forwarded to Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.
Officer Stephens responded to Saint Louis Street for a report of a runaway juvenile. He located the juvenile, and a report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Stephens took a report on Manze Street for a possible violation of an order of protection. A report will be forwarded for charges.
Officer Stephens issued a suspect a citation of shoplifting from a business on Preacher Roe Blvd. 
Officer Heuchelin responded to a business on West Broadway for a report of shoplifting. The case is under investigation.
Officer Chris Siegrist responded to Palmer Street for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. He arrested one subject for driving while intoxicated. 
January 8
Corporal Manning responded to Fifth Street for a report of domestic assault. He arrested one subject. 
Sergeant Reid responded to the WP Jail Facility for a report of an inmate attempting to self-harm. Officers transported the subject to the hospital.
Officer Siegrist responded to Preacher Roe Blvd in reference to a subject causing a disturbance. Transportation of one individual for mental evaluation transpired.
