NO AI CONTENT – EVER

This week, a press release written through artificial intelligence (AI) was submitted to me. I had not thought that it would come to Willow Springs so soon, but it has. We have never had an AI policy before – but here it is. 

 

There will never be AI-generated content in this newspaper while we own it.

 

If you’re reading a news article, a human being wrote it. If you’re looking at a photo, a human holding a camera or phone took it. If you’re looking at a chart or other graphic, a person made it. 

 

Ron, our team, and I work diligently every week to make this publication a one-of-a-kind news source. Most of the time, press releases don’t even make it into the print edition. We prefer to fill our pages with original reporting. 

 

If you submit press releases regularly to the paper, AI-generated content will be denied for publication without exception.
