January at the library
It’s January and we all know what that means - New Year’s Resolutions. Diets, workouts, budgets, and goals. New Year’s resolutions are great, but they can be hard to stick with, and failed resolutions can accumulate into an overwhelmingly negative situation. But successful resolutions; oh my friend, game-changers! I’ve made many resolutions in my life; a few of them stick, but most don’t and most of them aren’t at the turn of the year. The best plans develop when I realize I need to make a change. I’m a visual and kinesthetic/physical learner so I need to read and write things to make it stick, that’s why I love to use S.M.A.R.T. goal setting worksheets. It helps me make my goals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely. You can find these worksheets on the internet or stop by the library for a copy of my favorite one.
Our seconnd annual Community Christmas Gala and Children’s Craft Fair was a success. We would like to thank everyone who participated and those who decorated trees: West Plains Bank, Head Start, Mtn. View Christian Church/Operation Christmas Child, Delta Quiltworks, Mtn. View Soccer Association, Viandel Vineyard, Yarber Mortuary, and our winner, Debbie Reed with her antique button tree.
January 1 kicks off our year-long 2026 Reading Challenge. To participate, pick up a copy of the instructions and our 2026 calendar. We will also play Winter Bingo again beginning Saturday, Feb. 7.
Take Your Child to the Library Day is Saturday, Feb. 7 at 10:00 a.m. Come join us for a Llama Llama pajama party! There will be a special storytime at 10:30 a.m., coloring contests for toddlers, children and adults, door prizes and of course, snacks! Stop by and see what your library has to offer!
Wishing you a year full of positive changes, personal growth, and successful resolutions.
