Jo Lynn (Hayes) Abney

Jo Lynn (Hayes) Abney was born October 11, 1967, in West Plains, Missouri, to Doug Hayes and Pamela (Weaver) Harris and departed this life June 16, 2026, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 58 years.

 

Jo grew up on Arrowhead Lake and attended school in West Plains, Missouri. She went on to achieve a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing from the South Central Career Center. Jo had a love for fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors.

 

Jo's most treasured joy was being a mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time doing things with her family.

 

Jo is preceded in death by her father Doug Hayes, stepfather Joe Harris, maternal grandparents Abe & Rosalie Weaver, paternal grandparents F.P. & Maude Hayes, brother John David Hayes.

 

She leaves behind her mother Pam Harris, her son Jordan Abney and her daughter Rebecca Abney (Dustin), stepsisters Patty Goforth (Calvin), Amy Harris, stepbrother Joe Harris Jr. (Jennifer), grandchildren Parker Lee, Emorie Jade, Blakely Jo, Delanie Rose, and a granddaughter on the way.

 

Jo will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

 

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.

 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 28, 2026, at 2 pm at the First Christian Church, West Plains, Missouri.
