Christy Johnston

Christy Johnston, born on September 23, 1962, in Pomona, California, departed this life on May 6, 2026, at the age of 63, in West Plains, Mo.

 

Christy was someone who could bring joy into any room with her singing, laughter, and loving spirit.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linda D. Lynch and Peter A. Johnston Sr., and her brother, Peter A. Johnston Jr., and her baby sister Audrey.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Meagan Gray (Felix); her son, Edward Gray; her brother, Thomas Johnston; her sisters, Shelley McBride and Mary Perez; her best friend, Shirley Rowland who took care of her when family wasn't able; her beloved grandchildren, Jazara, Malcolm, Camdyn, Gabriel, Emory, and Bentley; Nephew Bobby Peterson; Nieces Melissa Brewer, Lindy Pringle (Weston) and Kayleigh Johnston; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, family, and friends who loved her dearly.

 

Christy was known for enjoying the simple things in life — especially a good McDouble, spending time with her grandkids, and singing whenever she could. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

 

Christy will be remembered for her warm heart, her sense of humor, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
