36th Annual Mtn. View Pioneer Days

The 36th Annual Pioneer Days returns to Mountain View Saturday, September 26. This beloved community tradition will feature a full day of live music, heritage demonstrations, contests, vendors, food and family-friendly activities, promises the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce. 

 

The day will begin with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Community Center. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door.

 

Festivities at the Gazebo Main Stage will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a welcome and announcements followed by the National Anthem performed by Brad and Richie Jester.

 

A full lineup of entertainment will continue throughout the day, including music by Jesus in the Park, the Sassie Lassies, Cornerstone Dance Studio, Travis Mourick and Rob Perkins. 

 

All-day attractions will include food and craft vendors, an old car, truck and tractor show, a quilt show, apple butter making, heritage demonstrations, a bounce house, train rides, ax throwing, dunking booth, cake walk, face painting and more.

 

Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations by the Howell County Sheriff's Department canine unit and RH Gospel Dogs, along with the Mountain View Police Department's drunk driving simulator and the Mountain View Fire Department bucket brigade.

 

Pioneer Days will bring back plenty of lighthearted, old-fashioned competition with a Pioneer Costume Contest, Beard and Mustache Competition, Mom/Husband Calling Contest, Tricycle races and Wash Day Relay Race. Contests are dependent upon participant registration. Those interested in competing may register at the Chamber booth adjacent to the Gazebo during the event.

 

Official Pioneer Days T-shirts, schedule of events and event information will be available at the Chamber booth throughout the day.
