Calls for Service

August 10

Corporal Jacob Hamby initiated a traffic stop on County Road 8620 in West Plains and arrested the driver for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Avery Stolba conducted a warrant arrest on Washington Ave, West Plains.

Deputy Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on Cedar St, West Plains.

Deputy Dylan Cook responded to a residence on County Road 1940 for a verbal domestic disturbance. Both parties separated for the night, and Deputy Cook put the twelve-hour rule in place. No charges will be filed due to the victim not cooperating.

Corporal Timothy Gordon took a report of a stolen phone. An investigation will be ongoing.

August 11

ORP Fugitive Task Force Officers conducted a warrant arrest for an individual at a residence on Olive Street. 

Deputy Stolba attempted to conduct a warrant arrest at an address on County Road 3010, West Plains. Once on scene, the individual they sought wasn't located, but they found another subject with an outstanding warrant. 

Deputy Cook received a third-party call regarding a possible disturbance off County Road 3210. He arrested one subject. 

August 12

Deputy Tyler Ryan responded to Ozarks Health Care regarding a gunshot victim. His investigation deemed the incident an accident.

Deputy Franklin Nesbit, met with two individuals in the lobby of the Howell County Sheriff's Office who wished to report harassment. The reporting party does not wish to pursue charges at this time.

ORP Fugitive Task Force Officers learned of a warrant for an individual living at a trailer park located on K Highway, near West Plains.

Deputy Nesbitt received a call from a citizen inquiring about property rights and trespass laws.

Deputy Nesbitt interviewed a victim of sexual abuse. Information was gathered, and a report was taken. This case is currently still under investigation.

Deputy Cook responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on County Road 5050, located just south of Willow Springs. All parties agreed to separate for the night to avoid any more conflict.

Deputy First Class Michael Lewis responded to the area of County Road 8830 in West Plains, for the report of a domestic altercation. His investigation determined only a verbal argument took place and the parties separated.

August 14

Deputy First Class Lewis conducted a traffic stop at on US Highway 63, West Plains. His investigation found the driver to have warrant out of Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Holloway responded to a death investigation in Peace Valley. EMS and Fire Department personnel were already on scene. His investigation found no signs of foul play and the death appeared to be of natural causes.

Deputy Taylor responded to the Howell County Sheriff's Office to speak to an individual regarding a scam.

Deputy Nesbitt responded to a third-party call reporting an assault, located on

County Road 6540, West Plains. He found no evidence of an assault.

Sergeant Travis Weaver responded to the Mountain View Police Department for the report of a juvenile who ran away from their home near the area of Private Road 2787 in Mountain View. The juvenile has not yet been located. He contacted the juvenile office due to the juvenile being on probation.

August 15

Deputy Nesbitt received information regarding a suspect with an active felony warrant currently at a residence on Garfield Ave, in West Plains. 

Deputy Nesbitt, and Corporal Reid responded to a third-party call regarding animal neglect and child endangerment, located on County Road 5320, Willow Springs. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.

August 16

Deputy First Class Lewis responded to an address on County Road 7270, West Plains, for a physical domestic altercation. They transported a juvenile suspect to the Howell County Juvenile office per a request of their state case worker. He completed a referral and will send it to the Juvenile Office.
