July 2

Meadowbrook Natural Foods, West Plains, violations: Food not protected from contamination. Observed boxes on the floor of the walk-in cooler/freezer. Boxes must be stored off the floor to prevent contamination. Reinspection date August 1.

July 7

The Gathering Place Drink Company, Willow Springs, pre-opening, violations: 1- The stands for appliances were not smooth and easily cleanable. Observed bare wood in prep area in need of painting/sealing. Approved to open once bare wood is painted/sealed. Edit - Approved for opening - 07/16. 

July 8

Wendy’s, West Plains, onsite due to complaint. No evidence to validate complaint. No violations.

Mama J's Comfort Cravings, Mountain View, mobile. Approved for opening. Will re-inspect once open and serving. No violations.

Captain D's, West Plains, violations: 1- Cold held food items not properly labeled. Observed cold held items not labelled for easy identification. Food items must be labelled. Discussed the ongoing tile repair. Repairing as time allows.

Sisco Sips, Mountain View, mobile, violations: 1- The prep area is not smooth and easily cleanable. Observed painting needed throughout the unit. Will approve once painted and gaps are filled along the wall.

July 20

Boys & Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area, West Plains, violations: 1- Observed handwashing sink blocked. Remove items for handwashing sink to be used. Re-inspection date: August 19

July 21

Sapz Thai, West Plains, onsite due to complaint.  Unable to confirm complaint. Discussed the need to plan a vent hood cleaning soon. No violations.

Dollar General, Caulfield, onsite due to complaint/concern.  Valid - A section of coolers and a section of freezers were down and needing repair.  All proper procedures appear to have been followed; product was moved from downed coolers and put into sections that maintain temperature. Products were discarded correctly. Cleaning of downed sections will occur. No evidence of mold due to leaking coolers.

July 24

Conjure House Coffee, West Plains, violations: none.

1040 Coffee, West Plains, discussed the need to prepare to defrost a cooler. Also discussed the need to date all items being held for storage after prep. No violations.

July 27

West Plains Quick Stop Conoco, Pomona, violations: 1- Live pests observed in main kitchen area. Observed pests on the floor and behind one of the cold storage units. 2- Observed hole in a ceiling tile in the kitchen area. This can also be a pest entry. Professional pest control services should be called to visit and perform service. Replace ceiling tile.
