West Plains council reviews elections results

The West Plains City Council reviewed the election results of the August 4 election during their regular meeting last Monday. The city's proposal to increase sales taxes one percent failed with 792 no votes to 159 yes votes.
Mayor Mike Topliff said, "We kind of have a vision of where we want to put the city, where we want to take it, and know that's not the route to take. We'll go back to the drawing board and see if we can come up with a plan to get where we want and to provide the service that we need to. We have some challenges ahead and we'll just work through them and come up with a better solution that everybody approves."
