Calls for Service

August 7

Asst. Chief Trenton Roberts investigated a hit and run accident at Walmart. 

Asst. Chief Roberts responded to a two-vehicle non-injury accident.

August 8

Asst. Chief Roberts responded to a report of a tree across the roadway. He found a resident removing the tree with a tractor.

Cpl. Kylie McGee located a large snapping turtle in the roadway and did not want it to be hit by a vehicle. The turtle did not like law enforcement and did not want to be removed. She later returned to check on the turtle, and it had left the area.

August 9

Asst. Chief Roberts received a complaint of a vehicle parked in handicap parking at the girl scout building. After an investigation, they removed the vehicle. 

Asst. Chief Roberts spoke to an individual on Sharp Street regarding storm flooding. He forwarded the information to the street department.

August 10

Cpl. McGee assisted with a juvenile upset and threatening to harm family members. 

Officer Jacob Brixey took a report of stealing. 

Cpl. McGee issued a courtesy ride to an individual walking to their residence due to extreme heat.

August 11

Chief Stetson Schwien took a report of a non-injury vehicle accident.

Officer Barnes conducted a wellbeing check on an individual parked in an unsafe manner.

August 12

Officer Brixey assisted Howell County Sheriff’s Office with a theft investigation.

August 13

Officer Matthew Combs took a report of a stolen license plate.

 

For the week officers: conducted two area checks for suspicious circumstances, conducted one paper service, investigated two nuisance ordinance violations, followed up on two previous investigations, spoke with eleven individuals requesting or relaying information, and issued fifteen traffic violations.
