My only regret

I write today as a concerned parent, an American patriot, and above all a disciple.

 

My words are my very own.

 

Recently a post I made in regard to socialism, headed major attention and offense. I truly meant no harm to my community. The only regret I have with the specific post was that I wasn’t more Christ-like in my communication.

 

As a nation we set back and watched our very own government dangle precious resources over our citizens to try to get their way. They used the livelihood of our people as leverage.

 

That is absolutely not ok with me.

 

We also watched a self-proclaimed socialist make all kinds of promises and in return was elected mayor of NYC.

 

My warning was to those who promote and support this idea of government because a government who can feed you can also in return starve you.

 

We saw this example last month when the government was shut down. Millions went without benefits and pay for a period of time however, congress was still getting theirs.

 

I truly worry about the state our nation is in. Times are very hard for the average American and the more power we give to the government, the less control “we the people” have.

 

I am an abundant believer in capitalism and the Republic our nation was founded to be. America is still the land of opportunity, and we are truly the last free nation left. You can work as hard or as little as you want, it all depends on your own individual goals and needs.

 

Work ethic can substantially improve your mental health. I still stand by that statement. Whether you worked in the garden during the day or went to your 9-5, there is always a sense of purpose when you serve something other than yourself.

 

Purpose is powerful.

 

Words are powerful.

 

I know that my words truly hurt some of you and that does hurt my heart. The world is a mess right now and amidst all of the division I see more common ground now more than ever.

 

Satan wants us to act on emotion. God calls us to be led by the Spirit. (Romans 8:5)

 

I love my nation, and I love my community.

 

We are in these wild times together. I implore you to truly listen to one another with grace.

 

We do not have to agree but we need to have these conversations constructively. It is in the midst of conversation where we usually find that we all have similar goals, just different ideas on how to achieve them.
