Willow Springs Arts Council Invitational Art Show results

Results of the Willow Springs Arts Council Invitational Art Show were announced Friday afternoon. High school students from six area schools participated: Ava, Willow Springs, West Plains, Thayer, Cabool, and Liberty. Judge Kristina Kauffman awarded "Best in Show" as well as four ribbons in six categories.

Submissions were open to public viewing Friday afternoon

Best in Show: "Into the Light," an oil painting by Allee Freeman of Ava High School

Color Design:

First Place: "Hampsters in Socks" by Heidi Wehmer, Willow Springs High School

Second Place: "Broken Beauty" by Laiken Smith, Thayer High School

Third Place: "Radial Design" by Emily Ritter, West Plains High School

Honorable Mention: "Mixed Media Collage" by Madalyn Berry, Willow Springs High School

Black/White Design:

First Place: "Infatuation" by Lyla Cornman, Liberty High School

Second Place: "Forest of Nature" by Trysta Johnson, West Plains High School

Third Place: "Van Gogh Landscape" by Faith Robles, West Plains High School

Honorable Mention: "Trippy Lines," a Willow Springs High School group project
