WIllow Club Championship held

On Saturday, March 28, Willow Springs hosted the annual WIllow Club Championship. Approximately 32 players, including K-12 students and adults from the area competed for the title of the Club Champion. Drake Marshell, a Willow Springs graduate, was the top player overall. Another Willow graduate, Sven Woodard, was second, and chess volunteer mentor Michael Jackson was third.
 
In the High School section, Otto Schuette was third. In the Middle School section, Willow won the first team honors. Heidi Bennett was in the top spot, Jake Beltz was second, Kane Bennett was fourth, and Ayden Bennett was fifth. Keaghan Messex, Gena Higgs, and Kellan Messex won two games each, Ralphie Romans and Izzy Callahan had a win and a draw each, Justice Coontz had a win, and Brennan Dye earned a draw.
 
In the elementary section, Michael Iacovlev and Oakley Hatch earned top team, with Michael in first place and Oakley in third.
