West Plains High School Student Council awarded Honor Council Silver Award

The West Plains High School Student Council has been awarded the Honor Council Silver Award by the Missouri Association of Student Councils. The award was presented at the 2026 MASC State Convention held at Branson High School.

This prestigious recognition highlights the Student Council's outstanding involvement at the local, district, and state levels. Only 81 student councils across Missouri met the criteria to receive this honor in 2026.
The Honor Council Award is based on a comprehensive application process evaluating student leadership and engagement in areas such as school service, school spirit, community service, student and teacher recognition, and leadership development activities.

The West Plains High School Student Council is led by advisors Miss Kirsten Peterson and Miss Karsyn Smith, both teachers at West Plains High School, whose leadership helps guide and support student success.

West Plains High School Student Council continues to make a positive impact by fostering leadership opportunities and promoting a strong, supportive school environment. School officials commend the dedication of student leaders, as well as the commitment of Student Council advisors and administrators who support and encourage student involvement and growth.
