MVBT Board of Education tables class rank policy

The Mountain View-Birch Tree R-III School District Board of Education met on Thursday, June 18 at the Central Office Conference Room.
During the meeting, the minutes of the May 14 regular board meeting, payment of bills in the amount of $1,030,734.23 were approved along with monthly administrative/principal reports.
Payment of $220.01 to Barn Hollow for supply and Brown's Lawn and Garden for $445.13 for supply was approved with Board Member Mikael Orchard abstaining.
Superintendent Lanna Tharp presented the May 2026 financial report with a balance in all funds of $12,251,624.44.
In other board actions: The Policy IKC: Class Ranking was tabled until the July 2026 board meeting; The 2026-2027 preliminary budget for the 2026-2027 school was approved; Policy BBFA was approved as presented; the AMI Plan for the 2026-2027 school year was approved; the bid for propane provider for the 2026-2027 school year was approved and awarded to Ferrell Gas; and the Missouri Stop the Bleed Protocol was approved
The board entered into closed session at 7:05 p.m. for the purpose of RSMO Section 610.021 (3) Hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting of particular employees. During closed session the board approved the following:
Resignations were accepted from Kenyon Walls, SE Para; Shawna Rutledge, BT Teacher; and Jaris Acklin, SE Teacher effective June 30, 2026.
Approval to employ Rhonda Dusenberry, SE Teacher; Brad Shockley, Elementary Teacher; Hope Berry, Elementary Teacher; Kendra Barbrow, SE Teacher; Dalton Vermillion, SE Para; Corey Acklin, Coach (pending paperwork) was approved for the 2026-2027 school year.
Reagan Wells and Becky Wood were approved and added to the volunteer list.
The board returned to open session at 7:37 p.m. and adjourned the meeting.
