In the air, there’s a feeling of Christmas
Christmas festivities lasted all day on Saturday in Willow Springs. Bright and early, young and old came out to the Lions Clubhouse for pancakes with Santa, hosted by the Willow Springs Lions Club. The breakfast was well-attended and busy – especially since the Grinch showed up and chased, or was chased, around the Clubhouse.
At noon, Santa and his super friends greeted citizens in the Star Theatre Annex, alongside the silent auction of decorated wreaths. The Willow Springs Arts Council hosted their wreath decorating contest and fundraiser again this year. The Grinch made an appearance here too. Guarding the goods were not only Mr. & Mrs. Kringle, but also Batman and Robin.
The capstone of the day was the lighted Christmas parade, hosted by the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce. First place among the floats this year was Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, Inc.; Second place went to the Polar Express float, and third place went to the South Central Missouri Canine Club.
