Zizzer Alum Joe Davis donates to West Plains School District S.W.A.T. Program
The West Plains School District received a $3,100 donation from the family of Zizzer alum Mr. Joe Davis for the Students Working at Transition (S.W.A.T) Program. Over 80 donations were made to the Joseph Will Davis memorial fund to honor his legacy as an educator. The donation will enhance students' educational experiences in the S.W.A.T. Program, which Davis created in 2005. The program assists individuals with disabilities in gaining work experience while attending West Plains High School.
"Joe Davis was the most influential co-teacher I have ever had. He taught me so much about kids, behaviors, and to have empathy for students. The SWAT program was his creation and I am proud to be continuing his legacy. I also appreciate his wife Kathy Davis, son Ty Davis, daughter Katie Davis, and granddaughter Nellie so much for their generosity," stated S.W.A. T. Instructor Sheila Sparks.
