Waiting for Sunshine Among the Top 20 vehicles for the Lakeland Pharmacy show was a 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 owned by Richard and Brittany DeLuna of Willow Springs. Vehicles earning Top 20 honors included, from left, a 1955 Chevy pickup owned by Louis Brackett, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air owned by Tommy Stewart, and a 1957 Chevy Bel Air owned by Sheron Rabun. Others earning Top 20 honors were vehicles owned by Earnie Owen, Richard and Brittany Deluna, Jerry and Cindy Wampner, David Scarbough, Eddie Rush, Marshall Taylor, Robert Rich, Truman Pool, Pat and Debbie Nacey, Daniel Jays, Joey Lacaze, Merritt Silva, Earl Wilson, Coare Trceuttiasn, Katie Heversen, and Jerry Akers. Lakeland Pharmacy in Willow Springs hosted its annual car show on Sunday, with proceeds from the event going to Main Street Willow Springs, the Willow Springs High School choir, and homeless veterans. The event was scheduled for Saturday but moved to Sunday due to forecasted rain on Saturday. The show drew 55 cars. Organizers said they sold more than 150 hamburgers, 100 hot dogs, and 100 pulled pork sandwiches, along with cotton candy and snow cones. Cloggers from On the Floor dance studio performed for those on hand at Sunday’s event. The studio is located at 110 Bear Drive, next to Lakeland Pharmacy. Lakeland staffers Savannah Duncan and Megan Dobyns, along with Megan’s husband Daniel Dobyns, helped serve food and drink to those in attendance, including Serghei Iacovlev and sons Michael and Daniel. Joshua DeLuna, 2, of Willow Springs enjoyed a snow cone Sunday afternoon at the Lakeland event. Marley Green and Gracie Dobyns took a turn on the inflatable slide as part of the fun at Lakeland Pharmacy on Sunday. Children also played inside a bounce house. Rain Date Car Show a Success
