Head Coach Seth A. Huddleston said, "This was a big game for us coming off of back to back losses to end the Blue and Gold tournament. The theme for this game was high intensity, defense, and rebounding. When we have those three keys in mind, our offense will always be better and more efficient. Our guys really defended well and set the tone early in the game. Ball pressure, post defense, help defense, and rebounding were all better this game than in the previous couple of games. We forced quite a few turnovers early in the game and made them take some tough, contested shots. Jacob Moore didn't score in the game, but his hustle and post defense were big for us. Our guards really defended their guys well, and our post players defended well also. Collectively, this was one of our best defensive efforts this season. We led 24-8 after the first quarter. We led 40-15 at half and after three quarters we led 61-28 and went on to win 69-42."
