Moment in the Word

2 Thessalonians 2:10 ... and in all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

 

A vile tyrant is coming and might already be here. We will know for sure when he either claims to be God or to be God's "Messiah" - the Chosen One (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5). The coming of this lawless individual will be in accordance with how Satan works... speaking arrogantly while changing traditions and laws (Daniel 7:25). He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve his lie (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

 

Sadly, the individuals who accept the madman's deception will perish because they refused to love undeniable truth and save themselves from what will subsequently come (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

But what will eventually overtake the victims due to their willful denial of unquestionable truth?

 

Due to the people's obstinate determination to promote and defend a vile lie, God Himself will send them a powerful delusion so that they might believe a greater falsehood that will ultimately condemn them for delighting in wickedness rather than simply accepting the original truth  (2 Thessalonians 2:11).

 

But wait! Did we read that Scripture correctly? Would God really send irresistible deception on people who previously preferred a lie? You bet He would, because He has already done such things in the past.

Just as God went through Egypt on the first Passover, destroying anyone who refused to remain under His token of blood (Exodus 12:23); He also sent the Death Angel through Jerusalem to kill everyone who forgot how to weep for the nation's despicable sin (Ezekiel 9:5-7).

 

Today, many loudly claim to make America great again, but have we ignored the truth of forgetting how to cry for our "pet sins?"

 

Americans on every side and in every persuasion despise the truth. Some promote the destruction of innocent, unborn life while championing the acceptance of sodomy. At the very same time, others defend pedophilia in high places... while adoring the beguiling luster of inordinate wealth which is the root of every evil (1Timothy 6:10). Regardless of your unique affiliation, these are all mortal sins that condemn your eternal soul to a burning hell for believing Satan's lie.

 

It makes absolutely no difference which political team you choose or who their most valuable player is! Almighty God trumps them all... with no respect to your brand of religion or whether you claim any faith at all!

 

On a graduated spiritual scale from mega-Pentecostal to avowed militant atheist, your identity makes no difference to God, except for what you've done with His truth? If you defiantly ignore the obvious indisputable reality of God's righteous Word, then you have marked yourself as a target for the coming barrage of divine deception. And you need to know that the Almighty never misses! Reject His truth, and God will abandon you to a depraved mind that no longer knows what to think or how to behave (Romans 1:28).
